Today's Everyday Fashion: Four Occasions

Last Sunday I had four occasions in one day - brunch for Jenni's birthday, a team photo for Africa, a planning meeting for CFL Blog Con, and church service. What in the world would work for all four?! The team picture required a blue shirt, so I pulled out this one and inspired by the photo, I paired it with my orange-red skirt. I am loving silver shoes and have a toned down version (perhaps these?) on my wish list, but nude accessories worked better for a Sunday afternoon, so I threw some on and was ready to go. It worked for all four occasions, and was comfy to boot. Would you wear this color combo?

  8. I really like this color combo and I like how you wore neutral shoes and a neutral handbag with the colors!  So on trend, and I also have been eyeing that mango skirt by the way because it is so cute!

  9. Hi J! As always, love your outfits. I find so much inspiration from you! Quick question - I am wanting to invest in some of these silk blouses from Moda that you love. Do you find them to run true to size or large or small? I am deciding between small and medium as I'm on the cusp between measurements, and can't decide! Thank you again - looking forward to more posts! (By the way, loved the new format of your newest episode.)

  10. Thanks so much Jennifer! I am an XS/0 up top, but MJR never has XS, so I always get a S and just tuck it in. ;-) I honestly think either would work for you, I would just choose based on how baggy you want it to be! A small would probably be a little more fitted than what it looks like on me, and a medium would be loose like mine. Hope this helps!

  20. I love orange in the first place. I almost bought that Loft skirt the other day, but I never know how to make things look good tucked in and how to make them stay tucked in unless it's belted.

  21. Lovely! I'm doing something similar in my post for tomorrow (pics taken this morning). I love orange and blue, however I have to remember not to look too much like a FL gator. I am a native Floridian after all. But I went to USF. ;-)

  24. Do you feel that you could wear this skirt to an office job or do you find it too short?

  25.  I should clarify that I love it and want to buy it but am hoping it's work appropriate!

  26. beautiful.... wish I had your figure.

  27. I love the color combo, but would probably stick with the neutrals like you did than the silver shoes. I think the silver would be a bit much!

  28. That's funny, I don't see Gator colors at all with this outfit! The orange is too red. I think of true orange when I think of the Gators. ;-)

  29. For 95% of office jobs, this skirt is unfortunately too short. If everyone in your office is extremely casual, and you wear flats instead of heels, then it might work. But if you are questioning it at all, I would err on the side of caution and go with something longer like the Limited pencil skirt at the bottom of the post!

  30. Oh I agree. Didn't mean to imply your outfit was the colors of FL gators. Not at all. It's a great combo!

  34. I  prefer your shoes and accessories to the photo's silver ones, personally.  I have an orange Old Navy skirt that I found at Goodwill with the tags still on.  You just inspired another outfit to wear with it.  Thanks, as always, for the inspiration you give us!

  35. I am fairly new to your blog and love it.  You have such a great sense of fashion and I have recommended your blog to several of my friends here in Vancouver Canada.  I would definately wear this outfit and I think you are right about the silver shoes.  All the best to you!
