The inspiration photo is like a pretty strawberry. The varying pink tones are the fruit, the buttons are the seeds and her belt is the green stem. I decided to dive right into my own closet to see if I could come up with something similar. I have mixed feelings about my own look - the skirt and belt together are a little bit Christmas, and while I love mixing orange and pink, all of it together may be a bit too much. I'll let you guys decide though - would you wear a strawberry-inspired look?
ps. This is my second outfit with this neon pink blazer. See the other look here!

Looks amazing! ♥
ReplyDeleteI love orange and hot pink. ;)
Yep! The colors are wonderful together - very summery. I agree with you on the Christmas colors -that usually bugs me a little too. Maybe a animal print belt would help to break up the literal strawberry look?
ReplyDeleteAlso - what about those scalloped shorts on the inspiration? That's what first caught my eye.
I don't really like this particular orange with your pink blazer, it's just too bright. It looks way better in the inspiration photo. But I do love the other look you wore with the same blazer. Way cooler...
ReplyDeleteWhile I'm definitely not a girl who's afraid of wearing color, I'm not a fan of this look. It might partly be the way the colors are coming up on my screen, but for me personally, it's just too much and the colors mesh well. I love the first look with this blazer though!!
ReplyDeleteI think the orange is a little too much. The blazer is darling though.
ReplyDeleteIt's a cute look overall, but I agree that the orange skirt isn't quite right. I think the raspberry color of the shorts in the inspiration photo works better.
ReplyDeleteMolly, she's wearing these shorts in the photo:

Love this outfit:)
ReplyDeleteI agree that the orange skirt doesn't work as well as the raspberry short. Love the pink blazer!
ReplyDeleteI love scalloping in general, but I don't like it in the inspiration photo! Makes me feel like she is wearing a diaper (a scalloped skirt would fix that), or maybe they just make the strawberry metaphor a little too literal! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the outfit. Something I would totally wear.

great color combo!
ReplyDeleteI love the pink and orange. I don't know if I could pull it off, but it looks super cute on you!
ReplyDeleteI'm not crazy about the orange (with this outfit), but I think a navy skirt would look great.
ReplyDeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteZepequeña.
Love the mix of colors! Very cheery :-)

I think you pull it off well, and the belt is teal enough that I actually don't think Christmas at all when I look at it. As far as strawberry goes, I actually have a modcloth dress that looks just like one of those strawberry candies ... I really like the concept, but in my case the green is a true green, and I do think it looks a little Christmas-y.
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit! Its totally summery. Your inspiration photo is great :) i've been looking for scalloped shorts everywhere. I have yet to find a pair that I love yet :/
ReplyDeleteHave a great Saturday :)

I have a similar outfit prepared for next week with a tangerine cardigan and pink skirt. It's one of my favorite color combinations for the warmer months. I'm not a fan of the green belt though... Beyond that the pink and orange look very nice. Especially, that blazer. (LOVE!)
ReplyDeleteI think this is darling and I would totally wear it as is.
ReplyDeleteTalula Kent blazer is also amazing, and an excellent material.

The colors in the inspiration photo are more muted and thats why the look works. This is way too much color, in my opinion. Adding a neutral-colored piece somewhere on the top would create a more sophisticated look with the brights.
ReplyDeleteI have been reading your blog for a couple weeks now and I just tried pink and orange together for the fist time this week. Definitely would not have done that without some encouragement from you! I was very nervous but it was great! I agree with some of the others maybe a neutral belt to go with the shoes :)
ReplyDeletei like it. h&m has some hot pink and teal blazers now that i'm in LOVE with...but i've only found size 2 in the store :(
ReplyDeleteI would loooooooove to own a pink blazer! SO pretty :) Love your teal belt, it is the perfect touch to this color combination!
ReplyDeleteYep, sure would rock this color the brighter the better imo. I like the nude pumps w/ a skirt look too it's a great trick for lengthening the legs...not that you need it though :)
ReplyDeleteI love that inspiration photo and your look as well! I really think I need a pink blazer!
ReplyDeleteCreamy

ReplyDeleteI would absolutely wear it. I love orange and pink together!
