Today's Everyday Fashion: The Roadmap

Sometimes I see an inspiration photo and the most random combinations pop into my head. Today's outfit is quite different from my inspiration photo, and yet, it was the roadmap to my own look. Her coral purse and striped shirt brought to mind my shirt and blazer, that seemed to be a match in my closet just waiting to happen. Her denim shirt reminded me of my faded jeans. And her nude sandals were a stepping stone to my nude pumps. How would you make this look your own?

  11. If I had those pieces in my wardrobe, I would wear them exactly like you are!  I recently picked up a pair of destroyed skinnies that are similar to yours and have been wondering how to style them - I really like how you've paired them with something a little more elegant on top.

  12. You have a great memory Bonnie! Yes, I'm keeping the blazer. Just not allowing myself to buy anymore blazers for at least 4 months!! I'm on a strict anti-blazer diet now. :-)

  13. Kim, you might still be able to find one! I was at Banana in Orlando yesterday and they had 3 left. Also ask them about shipping it to your house from other stores.

  18. I voted for you today! Reasons: I love your fashion sense, the way you play with patterns and mix colours and of course the way you give us different store options of where we can purchase the same thing. Also i actually read your blog!  There are other fashion blogs that I've been to and I totally skip over what they right and simply look at the pictures, your blog is fun to read! I love your inspiration pictures and how you put your own spin on them! Hope you win!

  25. Jesscia, I just counted and I own 15 blazers! They are a great way to dress up a graphic tee, or balance out a short hemline, and in Florida they are perfect for when it gets chilly at night! :-)

  36. I have a strange question...I see your jeans are distressed, but there appears to be some lining or patches underneath the holes. Did you you that yourself? I have a distressed pair, but they have become almost too revealing in some areas on the thigh die to washing, etc. Yours look cute!

Adriane, the jeans came this way! That's why I immediately snapped them up. I love the look of distressed jeans but am not at all a fan of when you can see skin showing through. There is a way to do this yourself though - buy white patches at the fabric store and iron them on your jeans inside out - so that the sticky part faces out into the world. It will just look white from the outside, and cover up your skin! I've done it many times!
