Today's Everyday Fashion: Spring Staples

A lot of readers have asked what I wear when "very casual" and this is a great example of a running errands outfit for me! I also wear wedges a lot, but when a day calls for tons of walking or I'm sore from working out, I turn to cute flat sandals like these. I also insist on adding a pop of color or a big necklace to make it more fun. I recently picked up this hot pink silk shirt and I have a feeling it's going to be a major staple for me this spring! (See it in a past outfit here.) Would you wear this for running errands?

  5. Running errands? Ha, I'm wearing workout clothes. I dress up for work 5 days/week, so I need a break from it for two days :)

  7. The necklace and shirt are stunning together!  And I'm so excited that you found the necklace at H&M ... I've been lusting after the J.Crew version, but can't bring myself to spend the $150 on it.  Great outfit. :)

  10. I would definitely wear this outfit! I love all of the colors! It's really cold here in Seattle right now (snow on St.Patrick's Day!) lol but as soon as it warms up I can't wait to wear outfits like this! <3

  15. Is that shirt still available online? I can't find it anywhere on MJR's site!

  16. MJR works like TJ Maxx/eBay so they usually only get in a few of any one item and it's a bit of a treasure hunt. They add thousands of items each week though, and the same items tend to show up over the course of many months. I spotted this shirt months ago in a size that was too big and finally saw one in my size recently, so I snatched it up!

  17. Thanks Mandy! The bracelets on my right arm are olive green and gold. The gold one is from Banana Republic, $10 - not available online anymore!

  18. Thank you!! Just a heads up that I bought this necklace more than a year ago, so unfortunately I don't think H&M will have it anymore. I would try eBay though!

  19.  Turquoise-on-hot-pink??    Gorgeous~~~and with (the contrast of) your white pieces, your outfit just *glows*!!

'Love your H&M turquoise BUBBLE necklace............ 'love bubble print tops, (like LOFT's pretty BUBBLE Dot Print Flutter Shell of gray and black circles, in
varying sizes, on cream)............ and 'love champagne BUBBLES, too, (haha)!!

I never really thought that the soles and heels of shoes were (necessarily) part of an outfit's color scheme;  however, (in the first photo, Above)............ the deep camel soles and heels of your sandals............ coordinate with your camel belt............ which matches your camel purse.    You can TELL when someone takes the time to dress with *care*~~~and you certainly do, J.!!

  20. Rosanna, that is so funny, I never noticed the soles of my shoes matching my belt but you are right!! I love that shade of brown so that could've been partly why I wanted those shoes! :-)

  21. Wonderful color combination for spring! Love that outfit and you look gorgeous!

  22. I could definitely see myself wearing this for running an errand or on vacation.  I'd love to see more posts like this one showing versility of an outfit (ie one item different ways - short, pants, skirts).

  23. I love this outfit! I looked for the shirt with the link you provided, but I couldn't locate it. Is there anyway you could provide the link directly to the shirt?

  24. Thank you! MJR list items separately (like an eBay listing kind of) so I can't link to a specific item. They don't have any of these shirts right now, but they add thousands of new items every week (and items sell out within a couple days!), so I would keep checking New Arrivals. The search term for the shirt is "MODA SHEER 3/4 SLEEVE BLOUSE."

  32. Yep! That is really similar. Not quite as "neon" but would still look great with a turquoise necklace.

  35. Love this look and the color is so fresh and clean!  ok, so this is a must have for me, but when I go to the MJR site it's nearly impossible to find this shirt.  They have so many products and the search function even advanced search is not that great.  Any chance you could post the link to the shirt itself instead of the main site?
