Today's Everyday Fashion: Miami Recap

I had so much fun in Miami this weekend!! Here's a recap/ what I wore.

Above: The reason for my trip - shooting a video for VISIT FLORIDA! This is what I wore on-camera to talk about shopping on South Beach. The first photo is staged - I'm planning to use it for branding on my VF Facebook page.

Shirt: Moda c/o MJR Sales, $24
Necklace: H&M, $14 (similar, similar)
Shorts: Gap, $24
Belt: H&M, $5
Shoes: Michael Antonio, $48
Rings: LOFT pink stone ring $11, My Stella & Dot website $49
Watch: Michael Kors, family gift
Bracelets: Banana Republic $10, My Stella & Dot website $49

The second half of the video was shot at Miami Fashion Week that night. My best friend from 4th grade, Sarah, and I have gone the past 3 years in a row together, so she came with us and took photos!

Dress: C.Luce c/o McAuley's, $42 (sold out)
Necklace: c/o Colorblockshop on Etsy, $36
Shoes: Michael Antonio, $48

One of my favorite parts of the trip: Ford loaned me a Mustang convertible for the weekend!! It was SO, so fun being in Miami in a convertible, I absolutely loved it. In this picture Sarah and I were on the way to spend the day at the beach.

Cover-up: Forever 21, $20
Emerald earrings: My Stella & Dot website, $49

Saturday night we danced up a storm and this is what I wore. I had planned to wear this shirt with black shorts and neutral necklace and at the last minute switched to a bright necklace and skirt because it felt more fun and more Miami. I never would've put this combo together at home, but it was the perfect ensemble for one of the funnest nights ever. :-)

Shirt: c/o Marshalls, $15
Necklace: c/o Colorblockshop on Etsy, $36
Skirt: Express, $30
Shoes: Colin Stuart c/o MJR Sales, $27

And finally... the absolute coolest. I finally got to see live gators in the wild on our trip to the Everglades!! (Check out the guy in the background above.) Such a great weekend - I love Miami and it was great hanging out with Sarah before she graduates from med school!

Shirt: Victoria's Secret c/o MJR Sales, $14
Necklace: Forever 21, $6
Purse: Calvin Klein from TJ Maxx, $120
Sunglasses: Banana Republic, $50

Which outfit is your favorite? What exciting things did you guys do this weekend?!

  9. Could you do a post on how to navigate MJR Sales?  You get SOO many cute things from that site, but it is completely overwhelming for me, I don't even know where to begin! :O)

  10. Love all your outfits!  I want that black and white dress!  Hate it sold out!

  11. Hey Jessica, quick question. What size is your pink silk Moda top and your VS cutout shoulder top? I  am between an XS and a S so was wondering how they ran.

  12. Here ya go Meghan, a link to my post on MJR! http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2011/03/todays-everyday-fashion-my-new.html

  13. Taylor, I have a hard time finding my usual size in tops (XS/0) at MJR so I often wind up getting a size S. I'm pretty sure that was the case with both of these tops, and while they fit, they are both pretty true to size and would have been better in a size XS!

  14. Loved all of them, specially the pink shirt and turquoise necklace! I had the same combination recently and can't get enough of it! You are such a style inspiration J!!! Hope you are having a wonderful day!

I love all your outfits! My favorite might be the one you wore shooting the video. That is one of my favorite necklaces and I love it with the pink!

  18. I couldn't help but notice that your right eyebrow is much higher and arched than your left. Did something happen (stroke or surgery)?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Toni, it's actually not much higher or more arched than my left. In one photo, #5, I have an expression on my face that I often make where I raise my eyebrow. But if you look at the other photos, my eyebrows are in the exact same place. :-)

  20. Thank you Mini Me! I was proofing this post last night and was feeling overwhelmingly blessed to have experienced such an amazing weekend. So blessed! :-)

  21. Thank you! I got that dress in October or November last year and I think it sold out as soon as I posted it. I'll let you know if I spot anything similar though!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I love gators!! It didn't really feel that close, or maybe I should be more nervous around them than I am! :-)

  23. Hi J!  As usual, love all your looks!  I was about to buy a citron necklace from Ann Taylor but now found yours on Etsy...love it!
BTW, some new pencil skirts up on The Limited today (yellow or mint)...would love your opinion..and of course hope you'll get one that I can watch you style it.  Best, Renee

  26. These pictures make me want to go to Miami RIGHT NOW and wear the brightest, most Miami-ish clothes I can get my hands on! Looks like you had a great trip(-:

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yay! I agree Amanda! And I really wanted to steal her pink belt. :-) I will ask her where it's from and let you know!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Miami is SO fun! And I was luh-ving how colorful my suitcase was! So much neon and color, definitely love the style of dress in Miami too!

  29. Was just on Piperlime and thought this dress looked familiar! Not the same but similar to yours and apparently the same brand?

  31. So helpful, thank you Toni! The link didn't work for me, but I think you are talking about this dress? And yes, C. Luce is a great brand sold at a lot of different stores/boutiques! http://piperlime.gap.com/browse/product.do?searchCID=4016&cid=4016&vid=1&pid=286145&scid=286145002

  34. I love your pink shirt, white shorts & turquoise necklace.  Also, loving the citron necklace.  I want one of those....I spent my Saturday shopping for some new spring things.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I love the pink shirt in the first 2 pictures, what can I search on MJR for it?? Been trying to find it!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I love the striped/ printed dress. Perfect for a day in Miami! Thanks for sharing :)

  37. J, I've admired the way you mix class and fashion for a while now. Lately I've also been admiring the way you handle rude comments with such class! Beautiful inside AND out! :) -Andrea

  38. The pink top with the white shorts and pink shoes is definitely my favorite.  It just screams summer and Miami to me!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Love your Miami outfit- so pretty with the pink, white & blue.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Thank you Michelle!

  41. Brittany, MJR usually only stocks 1-2 of an item at a time. They don't have any of these shirts right now, but they add thousands of new items every week (and items sell out within a couple days!), so I would keep checking New Arrivals. The search term for the shirt is "MODA SHEER 3/4 SLEEVE BLOUSE." Good luck!

  44. Gah!! I was misled! I saw an H&M bag in your first photo and thought I somehow had missed the fact that an H&M opened up in Miami, but alas, no such luck. =(

    ReplyDelete
  45. I know, I'm sorry! That's why I made sure to mention that the photo was staged. I wasn't actually shopping, I brought the bags from home so I could take pictures! :-) H&M is supposed to add online shopping sometime this year though, I'll keep you guys posted.

  46. No worries!! I just NEED one in my life, ya know? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  47. J your pops of color are inspirational! I'm on the hunt for that turquoise bubble necklace.

  48. I love the coverup dress in front of the Mustang! Looks really cute!

What is Vist Florida?! Is it a new business venture?! I have to check it out.

Looks like you're doing very well! I kind of feel proud in a way being a fellow blogger...I've been following yours pretty much since it started! Also, I'm from Orlando so I feel like you're representin' ! lol

  49. Thank you! I've been doing Visit Florida since August. I am the state "shopping expert" and manage a blog, Facebook page, and Twitter account for them, and then I also get hired to do additional videos and magazine articles, etc. like I did in Miami this weekend!

And you are so sweet, thanks for reading for so long! If you are in Orlando area you should join our Lady Blogger meet-ups, we have March and April on the calendar now: http://www.facebook.com/CentralFloridaLadyBloggers

  50. Love the pink and white outfit! The shopping bags go with it perfectly:)

  51. Love all the pics of the outfits that you wore in Miami.  You look like you had a wonderful time.  My favorite outfit is the one that you are wearing in the picture with the car (my family lives 2 miles away from where you took this pic.  Small world, eh?)  You should send Ford this pic.  Maybe they'll ask you to be their spokesperson.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Tagline:  With Ford, you're always in fashion!  Just a thought ;)

    ReplyDelete
  53. You are SO fabulous. I love the first outfit and am now inspired to buy a bright blouse to go with my white shorts. Summer is just around the corner after all!

    ReplyDelete
  54. (Check out the guy in the background above.) --- I was looking for an actual guy... LOL

    ReplyDelete
  55. Ah that is too funny!! I generally refer to animals as a "guy," no idea why I do that! Like hey look at that little guy (a dog), or hey look at that guy in the swamp (a gator). :-)

    ReplyDelete
  56. glad I found your site- you have such cute style!! but what i really want to know, is what type of calf exercises do you do?? your legs are fab!!

    ReplyDelete
  57. You are sweet, but I don't really do anything! I think wearing heels tones your calves, and I'm active (I love to run/do the elliptical, etc.) but nothing specifically for my legs. You can read more about my fitness story (if you are interested) in this post: http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2010/09/my-fitness-story.html

  58. I'm loving the last picture and how the colors are put together!!  Love the CK bag as well!
