Today's Everyday Fashion: A Little Retro

Oh, how this color combo makes me smile! I did an office look with turquoise + mustard here, but I'm loving this casual take on it, too. I originally put together this outfit for my trip to Austin, but it was freezing the whole time so it stayed in my suitcase. Now I'm sure I'll be sporting this around town for errands more than once this spring! Do you love turquoise and mustard together as much as I do?

Dress: c/o LoveMode, $20 (I recommend sizing up, I'm wearing a M. Also see this similar shirt.)

Belt: Joe's Jeans c/o Marshalls, $20
Shoes: Diba from Nordstrom Rack, $40
Purse: Calvin Klein from TJ Maxx, $130
Rings: LOFT pink stone ring $11, My Stella & Dot website $49
Watch: Michael Kors, family gift
Bracelets: Banana Republic, $10, My Stella & Dot website $49

ps. Speaking of mint, check out my first time ever being snapped by a street photographer here (it happened in Austin - so fun)!

  1. I LOVE that color combo!! So fresh and pretty for spring. Is that LoveMode dress the exact one you're wearing? It looks like hers has a zipper up the front and is so short! You wear it much better!

  8. Love the colors! I've been fooled by that skirt again, every time you feature it I click on over to buy it, then I see how short it is on the model, bummer!  I try to make sure that most of the clothes I buy are appropriate enough for my semi-casual job, but that won't cut it. I think I'll need to find another mustard dress though!

  11. Thanks Cindie! This dress is pretty short on me too. I definitely wouldn't feel comfy wearing it to work. I linked to a very similar shirt in the caption, but if I see any similar dresses I will let you know!

  12. Thank you Kelsey! Yes, it is the exact same dress. Mine also has a zipper (if you look closely you can see it on my skirt), and it's also really short on me, but I sized up to a M and that helped! :-)

Boo! Looks like the dress is sold out since I posted it this morning. They have the same dress in other colors though - including more polka dots! And I linked to a similar shirt in the caption, b/c they only had size L left in the dress. Hope that helps!

  22. I love this look, but I can't wear skirts/dresses to work.  What color trousers/slacks/pants would you add to a mustard top and turquoise cardigan?

  28. Adore this whole outfit.  I have a trip planned the end of April that I'm looking for cute ideas of what to wear.
I love those nude sandals so much.  I have looked on Nordstrom Rack and googled them with no luck.  Do you have a link that might help me?  They would be so perfect with so many things.
Thanks so much for all the inspiration found here.

Thanks Kym! My sandals are more than a year old, and I have never, ever been able to locate them online (or locate a style name) so mine will likely be hard to track down. A reader told me they just got similar sandals at Target, though! And I was at Nordstrom Rack yesterday and they had similar types of sandals, just in different colors. Hope this helps!
