Today's Everyday Fashion: The Switch Up

I had a meeting to attend yesterday and was feeling zero creativity. Thankfully, I had this lil' outfit recipe saved to my desktop and was able to put together a similar outfit in a flash. I tried the black shirt but it was way too harsh of a contrast, most likely because my necklace hangs down a lot farther than hers. I started going through my closet for shirt alternatives, and ultimately settled on a quirky printed top, which felt like a win and put a smile on my face. :-) Red pants have definitely become a staple for me lately, but I'm dying to know - are you rocking red pants yet?!

  5. I love this look! Funny that you ask about the red pants. I never owned a pair of red pants till I found your blog. My sister would tell me that its not flattering blah blah blah. After I saved a few of your pics. I went ahead and purchased them. They looks fabulous!Your ideas and examples have made me think out of the bubble. I actually just bought an orange burnt color pair. Hoping you will come up with something in that color palette. Thanks for inspiring me always!

  6. Love the look!  I bought that necklace last week and I can't wait to think of more creative colours to pair it with :)  Have you ever done a post about different colour combinations? Just bought a cobalt silk top from Zara and can't wait to pair it with mustard, emerald or hot pink flats in the spring :)

  7. Love your blog J, consistently inspiring me to dress out of my comfort zone!
I have a question though; all the photos and the way you wear them show the length to be very tailored or even above the ankle. I'm a super shorty and my red skinnies have quite a bit of slouch at the ankle. Do you recommend me having them tailored or is it okay to wear them with some bunching? Thanks!!

  11. Thank you Lollie! Some bunching is okay, but I also cuff mine a lot. For example, you can see it in this look: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=329442367081506&set=a.324855397540203.100240.120030604689351&type=3&theater I love cuffing b/c you can get it to be that perfect length with any shoe! And if it's a boot or bootie, I just tuck the jeans into them.

  19. I have red skinny jeans like yours, and a pair of red trousers for work.  I'm loving the color!  You made the right call on the shirt.  I find that black paired with red can be a bit harsh.  I prefer to pair the red jeans with cream, taupe, ivory, caramel, etc.

  24. Ditto the previous comment, I never would've been bold enough to try red jeans but saw your post awhile back about yours and kept thinking about it and finally bought the AE pair you mentioned a couple weeks ago.  They fit great and are really comfortable!  I also love the pink pairing you did with them, I'll need to try that too.
