Bahamas Cruise - Last Day

We spent the last day at sea and it was toasty warm with plenty of lounging and relaxing. I wore this bright outfit to dinner. I joked that I was a walking box of Crayons and that a nude shoe may have been the better choice, but I just love color so much I can't help myself sometimes. I also wanted to give these shoes some love since I bought them in November and hadn't worn them yet!

All in all, it was a great cruise. I definitely recommend the Bahamas for a quick girlfriend or couples getaway (especially if you book last minute - we paid less than $300 for our trip!). I would probably choose a warmer month next time, but I am hoping to take the same cruise again someday! I love living in Florida and having the convenience of hopping on a boat! What is your favorite kind of vacation?

  1. You booked for $200?!?!? Whoa!! How did you book? Did you use a travel agent?

  2. So glad you enjoyed your cruise, looks like tons of fun!  I leave near Galveston and we have been on so many because it's such an affordable vacation without having to air travel.  You can go all over the Caribbean for hardly anything!

When you book last minute, do you go through a travel agent or website or what?  Would love to know your secrets :)

  3. This bright look is so fun and perfect for the Bahamas! I love how colorful all the buildings there are! Like I said yesterday, I loooved my Bahamas vacation and I can't wait to go back. There's so many fun things to do there...my favorite was playing with sea lions on a private island. It's also such a quick little flight from the east coast!

  4. For this kind of occasion I think those shoes are PERFECT.  Hubby and I are headed to Turks and Caicos soon, and I can't wait... needing a beach fix!  Orangies Attic

  5. Hey - I do that too with my swimsuits! I like to mix different tops and bottoms, usually a printed top with a solid bottom or vice versa. Now that I see you doing it, I feel extra stylish. :)

My husband and I have lived in Florida for 5 years and haven't taken a cruise yet. (We're right on the Gulf - there are probably ships leaving every five minutes, right?) What are we waiting for? It looks so relaxing and fun. Thanks for sharing even while on vacation!

  7. TIna, yep I mix my bathing suits all the time!

And yes you should consider a cruise! They can be a little cheesy but I think they are such a relaxing way to travel. Tampa is a busy port so there should be lots of options for ya!

  8. Thanks Elizabeth! We booked through Orbitz, almost exactly a month before the trip and got a great last-minute price.

  10. Love all your outfits! We live near Galveston and they have the same deals to Mexico all the time but we've never been. I'm afraid I'll get sea sick. This year, they are even starting to do a Disney cruise, which I heard is awesome!

  14. Kelly, how long is your cruise? (Mine was 4 nights.)

  15. ps. That price is per person, and while the trip was $190, I believe we paid just under $300 once all the fees and taxes are added. (so I changed it in my post) My on-board bill was less than $50, making it about $350 for 4 nights! :-)

  20. I loveee those shoes from Urbanog, they were definitely in my cart for quite some time! I love cruises- they are SO the best way to travel! I typically book through the website, so I was wondering how you got it at such a great rate! But, after further reading... I am definitely heading over to Orbitz right now!

  21. Nicole, I always book directly too, but Andi suggested Orbitz and it was actually cheaper!

  22. Kelly, I always pack 2 outfits a day for cruises - you will want one outfit with a swim suit under it during the day, and then something to wear for dinner at night. For a 5 night cruise there will be either 1 or 2 "fancy" nights were you can wear cocktail attire, or even just a nice sundress. (Hopefully my posts gave you an idea of the range of outfits you can wear for dinner!) Hopefully this helps. Check out my other packing tips in this post: http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2011/11/how-to-pack.html

  25. It was just so much *FUN* to figuratively "tag along" (afterwards!!) on your beautiful, relaxing Bahamas Cruise!!    (Because my husband has a chronic medical condition, it's hard, unfortunately, for us to travel great distances;  but I absolutely *love* to read/hear ABOUT everyone else's travels!!)

As you did on both your European trip;  and now on your Bahamas Cruise, I think it's really *S.U.P.E.R.*  how you can expertly adapt, modify, AND/OR change your previously-planned Outfits because of, say, extra-hot weather (Europe);  or for a particularly cold day (the Bahamas)............ then how you additionally show us photos OF those "adapted/changed/modified" outfits, too, J.!!

The skillful, fashionable way in which you DO (all of) that genuinely inspires  *C.O.N.F.I.D.E.N.C.E.*  in those who, (say)............ have never been on a cruise;  and, therefore, aren't sure what to expect at all!!    In that way, you're............ INSPIRING women............ and helping them to make THEMSELVES stronger............ (i.e., by just "giving" them some of YOUR wonderful fashion confidence, J.)!!

  26. Aw, thank you Rosanna! Sorry to hear you aren't able to travel yourself. And yes, I have more clothing confidence than I know what to do with. :-) I hope women find that inspirational to try something new!

  28. Oh my goodness, those shoes are so amazing! I tried on a very similar-style pair of Jeffrey Campbell's at Nordstrom this weekend in orange/pink and was in love. But I love the price of these little lovelies much more!

  30. Just the other day I went into the Rue 21 at the mall here in Savannah. I don't normally shop there but I went in looking for something specific and while wondering through the store came across the shoe section... they had shoes very similar to the ones you have on in this post. Having read this post earlier in the week I smiled and thought of your outfit and then of course had to try them on and then put them back. Maybe next time! :)
