Today's Everyday Fashion: The Color Purple

Purple was always my favorite color as a kid. What color Popsicle did I want? Purple. What color bike did I want? Purple. What color marker did I want? Purple. I even had a stuffed animal that smelled purple. (Okay, it was grape, but you catch my drift.) Today's monochromatic look is a throwback to 5-year-old me who would have loved an all-purple outfit and just looking at it makes me smell purple again. Dressing in one color like this can also be a really easy work outfit. Try it with blue, red, green or purple in your closet and see how it goes! Are you a fan of monochromatic looks like these?

  1. Purple was my favorite color as a child, and still is to this day, so I absolutely adore this look!  Purple is so regal and is the color of royalty (I always thought I was a princess, lol)!  Dressing monochromatic is so simple and tres' chic!  Heather

So glad you did a purple look - it's my favorite color, as well! I'm all for monochromatic, just as long as it's not so matchy-matchy - which your outfit isn't. I love the complimentary shades you've paired together!

  3. I love purple!! I have a ridiculous amount of it in my wardrobe and I'm instantly drawn to it in the stores. Is there such a thing as too much purple?

That color looks great on you!

  11. Well, I just think you look very similar to an *exotic* Island Princess, (i.e., http://www.teleflora.com/flowers/bouquet/telefloras-island-princess-372742p.asp?promotioncode=PSGG10D)!!

Seriously, though, your wearing purple (right next to your face) makes your lovely complexion simply *glow*----i.e., like NO other color does!!    Even long ago, your little 5-year-old, (aspiring to be fashionable!!), self was just INSTINCTIVELY right then, J, in "always wanting purple," because purple............ really, really IS............ *Y.O.U.R.*  Color!!

  13. Purple has always been a favorite, along with green. I had purple carpeting in my room when I was young. And I love mono-chromatic looks, I do them all the time, although grey and beige aren't too daring.
