Today's Everyday Fashion: The Shoes Have It

The preppy look = one of my favorites of all time. Preppy with a side of mustard? Even better. So much so, that I decided to double up on the mustard and go with mustard shoes. This is definitely one of those outfits that could work with 10 different pairs of shoes depending on the occasion.  When it comes to shoes, I think it's really all about the destination, yes? I would wear my brown loafers with this for a day with lots of walking, brown wedges for some walking, and these sassy yellow shoes for a fashion event or lunch with friends. When it comes to an outfit, the shoes have it. How do you decide which shoes to wear with your outfit that day?

  1. The shoe decision definitely depends on what my plans are for the day.  More times than not, I pick my shoes first and then build around that.  Shoes are like pieces of art in my opinion!   Love your preppy vibe today, blue and yellow looks great together!  Heather

  4. suuuuch a cute look, J!  I really, really love this one!
About the shoes...first I check the weather (don't wanna wear leather/suede in the rain) then it's based on my activites - which store I'm working at (one is much busier than the other so I go for slight wedges and flats while I can wear my heels and platforms at the newer location!)http://somethingoldmeetssomethingnew.blogspot.com/

  5. LOVE this outfit! For some reason I just loveee a tucked in button up, but I'm a college student and don't want to look too "mommy."  This is definitely a way to make it look younger! I love all of your outfits!

  7. I had some similar heels from Nine West, but just my luck my dog decided to make dinner out of them :( I love a pair of yellow pumps though, they are so great for adding a pop of color to an outfit!

  8. I love the color combination here! I can't really pull off mustard (I think it looks better on blondes) but this is so cute I might have to give it a try on a bottom like you have here! And you are so right about the shoes changing the look of an outfit! Sometimes it's fun to construct an outfit around a hot pair of shoes!
