Today's Everyday Fashion: Crochet Trend

I am finally back to regular posts today! Woo hoo! Hope you enjoyed the guest bloggers and my vacation pictures. I won't have internet for a few days (eek) and it might be a bumpy ride back into normal blog mode so please bear with me. Some posts I have planned in the next few weeks:

- recap of what I packed for Europe and lessons learned
- recap of all the shopping I did in Europe and what I bought
- part 2 of my Fall 2011 Shopping Guide - let me know your favorite trends this fall and I will add them to the list!

Today's look is one I've admired on Diane Kruger for quite some time. I love her crochet sweater, and I'm digging the crochet trend in general. This Victoria's Secret sweater I found on MJR Sales was just speaking to me. Looks really cute in person and I hope to wear it as a swim cover up eventually too! Are you a fan of the crochet trend this year?

  1. I love the crochet look!  As far as trends go, I would love to learn how to properly layer my clothes in a work/office setting and how to wear a scraf in a business setting.

Thanks J! I love and appreciate your style and creativity.

  2. The crochet trend is really fun! Love the way it has become modernized to not look like you are wearing something your grandma made. It can definitely be remixed for all four seasons with the right pieces (layering, etc). Love your sweater with the shorts!

The one fall trend we are not completely sold on is ponchos. Would love to see you style one and maybe change our minds! Heather and Kayla

  8. I like the crochet trend but I'm always afraid to buy anything for fear it will get snagged! Looks great on you though!

  9. Hannah, you aren't joking. I've already snagged this sweater a bunch of times. Thankfully the pattern already looks "messy" so it blends in pretty nicely. :-)

  11. You are in luck because I just got a lightweight poncho from TJ Maxx last week that I'm loving, will post with it soon. 13. Wow! I just discovered your blog and I am hooked! You have the exact style I love- and I especially love how you copy a celeb's style, yet show a more affordable and reasonable version.
My blog is very similar- yet geared for women 35+. If you have a minute, I'd love you to check it out!

  14. Hi J, I love your bag and I think the color you have will go with some sandles I have similar to yours.  I'm considering ordering from Piper Lime, but their "brown" color looks so much darker than yours.  Do you know if yours was "brown" or another color?  Thanks!!

  17. Thanks Shirley - I just looked and the brown is definitely a different color.  Mine is called "saddle" and High Gloss Fashion has it - http://www.shareasale.com/m-pr.cfm?merchantID=31021&userID=518096&productID=480063953
