Today's Everyday Fashion: That's My Style
You guys know I like to dabble in all types of styles, but if I had to pick just one it would be something like this. Very Tory Burch, very preppy, a bit tribal. This is pretty much "me" in an outfit. :-) I will be running all over town today wearing this - I have a couple of meetings and some errands. I liked both pairs of shoes with this outfit so I decided to show both. I'll start the day in wedges and if my feet get tired I'll switch to flats!
Tell me - how do you know when something is "your style"?

I love this look! Perfectly casual and stylish at the same time :)
ReplyDeleteYou look so SMOKIN' in this color, J!

I love it!!! I have the same but with linen wide leg trousers instead of shorts... it's probably the best color combo I wear !!
ReplyDeleteNext time you make a purchase for MJR Sales will you please post a screen shot of that item as it appears on the website. I've checked that website several times and I've never seen anything that's nearly as cute as the stuff you've bought from there.
ReplyDeleteSarah, I will do you one better. ALL of the cute stuff I find on MJR, I post it to my shopping website at http://www.shopjcloset.com so you don't even have to look for cute things. I had this shirt posted there for the past month, but someone just bought the last one. They tend to add more items later so I will keep an eye out and post any more of this shirt that come in!
ReplyDeletecute. i suggest next time wear a necklace contrast to your blouse.
ReplyDeleteThis might be one of my top 10 favorite J outfits!! I love Tory too--especially the shoe collection. Do you ever get discounts on that label?
ReplyDeleteJillian, are you asking if I ever get discounts on Tory? My budget is so small (right now, it's $100/month) so I have honestly never really considered buying something Tory Burch. I just drool over the inspiration photos I save from the website. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love this! The necklace and shirt look wonderful together!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is great! The color of your top is gorgeous! And I have the same sandals you do and they are one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI think my style usually gears towards the classic/preppy look, but it also has to be comfortable also for everyday wear!

That is a great necklace! I hope your feet get tired, because I totally like those flats with this! :P

This look is perfect! YOu should wear that color more often, and "your" style is totally you! This look is one of my favorites, because you just threw it together and it works really well. I am so jealous of your tan too.

That color is very pretty on you! I like the monochromatic palette (offset by neutrals). The necklace makes a statement and adds texture, without taking away from the impact of the red/coral. Love love love the bag.

What an adorable outfit! Those shorts are perfect for summer and that bright top is a fabulous color on you!
ReplyDeleteI think something is "my" style when I like the look it creates and it makes me feel comfortable, powerful, and attractive.

ReplyDeleteLove the outfit J! Are these the same Rampage shoes?
Love this outfit!! I know when something is my style by how I feel, and when I look in the mirror I just have this glow to me. I just love that feeling how an outfit can make you feel confident and comfortable in your own skin...when a style does that for me then I know it's the one. Usually that would be something like what you're wearing or a dress...I like to show off my legs ;)
ReplyDeleteIs your necklace orange or red?
ReplyDeleteI go for the classy and bright colors!
ReplyDeleteI personally like the look of the orange necklace on an orange top. If you prefer a contrasting look, this statement necklace also comes in blue!

Such a great outfit J. I love the laid back yet funky vibe, and it's so stylish too. Great work,, as always :)

oh no it doesn't need anything different at all
ReplyDeleteLove the outfits, J, and I love that necklace with that top. For a moment there, I thought it was embroidery in the top. Love it!
ReplyDeleteAs for my style, it's still evolving. I do know that I like classic pieces, but I'm trying to find my style. Does that make sense? I've been wearing a lot more color this year and I'm loving it. BTW, I've been getting lots of compliments on my outfits lately (and from strangers, too)...thanks to you and what I'm learning from your blog every day. :)
Your outfit is really cute here. In the summer, I'd wear something pretty similar except flat sandals instead. I also love just throwing on a sundress or even a skirt when I need to run out the door. Simple, but easy to accessorize, as well! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this look. I was hesitant to buy this necklace. Anya Sarre brought this to shoedazzle. They have it in teal and red. I thought it was too big but after seeing it with your outfit... I must have it in both colors. Thanks for the inspiration! A shopping I must go now :)
ReplyDeleteI have the same shirt but in black! Love it. I'm really into ruffles right now.

Nina, I also saw this necklace on Shoe Dazzle and wondered if it would be too big. When I found it for cheaper from this company on eBay I decided to give it a try! I think it's big, but I absolutely love it. Looks SO expensive in person!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this sweet note, I love hearing when people are "seeing results" from the blog, that is the best compliment ever. :-) I had the same feeling with the necklace looking almost like it's part of the shirt!
ReplyDeleteStefanie, I would describe both the shirt and necklace as an orange red. Definitely not a true red, but for an orange color it has a reddish tone.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carly! Those look like the same shoes to me! I bought mine last summer, and absolutely love them.
ReplyDeleteLove this bright poppy color on you! Looks great with white and the nude color shoes.

Hey, I tagged you an award!!

I love this outfit!
ReplyDeleteI saw this outfit on Julie's post about your lunch, and loved the shirt. So cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks- but it's the same color as the one it's linked to on ebay? I love it!
ReplyDeleteLove the necklace...and love, love, love the outfit! I just had a question on the necklace...what other things do you see yourself wearing it with?
ReplyDeleteLove you and your website soooo much!!! (but to tell you the truth...my husband doesn't like it too much...spending WAY more money now after seeing items on your website that I just HAVE to have!!!) :)
Thank you Stephanie! I also plan to wear this necklace with a white dress and a cobalt blue dress, and I have a work look with a collared shirt coming soon. I totally love this necklace so I will be wearing it a lot this summer!
ReplyDeleteYes, same necklace! If I link to an item, then it's usually the actual item from the place I bought it. I don't link to 'similar" items unless specified! (I say this because i know some bloggers do link to similar items)
ReplyDeleteJ, I just had a friend of mine send me an invite to Shoe Dazzle. What is your take on Shoe Dazzle? Is it a good deal, and do they have items on there that are worth it? What about the quality? Do you belong on Shoe Dazzle?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much...love your site!!
Stephanie, I haven't tried Shoe Dazzle but I'm not a huge fan. Most of the shoes on Shoe Dazzle you can find for cheaper ($20 vs. $40) at Urban Originals or other online stores, and I actually think that $40 for a pair of inexpensive heels is pretty over-priced! This necklace is another example - they were charging $40, but you can get the same exact necklace for cheaper on eBay.
ReplyDeleteI am wearing this color combo today to get my hair done and shop.
