Today's Everyday Fashion: The Orange Skirt

I love that Katie Holmes is rocking her ladylike outfit with a fun orange skirt and leopard purse. I decided to give her classy-meets-sassy look my own spin with my favorite crazy shoes and a leopard belt. Of course, a short skirt and high heels enough skin for one outfit, so I made sure to cover up on top. Gotta keep it classy, Katie Holmes style. :-)

Style tip: Punch up your style this summer with a sassy skirt in a fun color such as orange, red or bright pink!

Occasion: Definitely not work appropriate with that sassy short skirt :-)

  2. These pops of color are great for the summer! I also love a short skirt paired with something classy like a button down -- for me it adds way more appeal, something fun and something a little more serious.

  3. Wow loving the scallopped edge of the skirt, so perfect for Spring (if it ever arrives where I live :P )

  4. For a twist (and super sass!): try pairing the orange skirt (depending on the shade- it looks like a coral in picture) with either mustard, teal or your awesome hot pink pumps :) but as always, you look stunning and I love the nude sandals!

I had no idea that Forever 21 has had so many cute skirts.  I have one from around 2004 that is still going strong!

  9. I was also inspired by this outfit on Katie Homes.  You did a great job translating the look.

  10.  Recently new reader...first time commenter, anyway...

I honestly like your version much better than Katie's version. Your skirt and shoes are much cuter and I love that you used leopard print in a cute belt instead of her (in my opinion) ugly bag.

  13. I just ordered the skirt! I've been looking for a bright mini. I usually wear a small in most stores but they only have a medium.. hope it fits!

  14. Jennifer Clark I wear a size 0 or 2 on the bottom and I ordered a M. Forever 21 runs really small (they are junior's sizing, not regular sizing).

  22. I have been so inspired lately by a recent posting on WhoWhatWear (thanks for turning me on to this fabulous daily dose of fashion fabulousness btw). It is all about pairing neons with neutrals, which your outfit does beautifully. Neon can be very intimidating; however, when paired with neutrals, the outfit can be brought back down to earth and much easier to wear.

  32. Wow I absolutely love love that outfit, you look hot!  And I love that skirt, too cute with the scalloped edging and awesome color!  I agree with others here in that you have amazing legs to rock that skirt....how do you keep so tan?  Do you spray tan or use tanning lotions?

  33. @459f99088225be6b11f956e9b889ab53 Thank you! :-) I am American Indian, and my skin is naturally olive. I use SPF every time I'm outside (which is maybe once a month) and I don't use tanning beds, spray tan or self-tan.

  36. Oh I really don't know if an orange skin skirt would be suitable for everyone. I guess it would depend on the skin tone of the person who would be wearing it. Keep posting fashion tips in here! That would be of great help to everyone.
