Today's Everyday Fashion: What to Wear on Easter Sunday

There's just something about Easter that makes me want to wear a dress covered in flowers. It could be the memories I have as a kid of wearing a new Easter dress each year and loving every second of it. This Easter is no exception - I'm already looking forward to wearing this floral dress I scored on MJRSales.com a couple weeks ago. (I love that it has a corset!) Below I've also shared some other options from my closet that I think would make the perfect Easter Sunday attire. Tell me - what are you wearing on Easter Sunday?

Shopping tips: If you are still looking for a dress like this and live near a Ross, head there now! I stopped in yesterday and they have a dress event going on right now which means TONS of gorgeous dresses for great prices. I also saw dresses at Macy's and TJ Maxx. I would love to see your Easter outfits, please feel free to post them to my Facebook page!

  1. Love your Easter dress w/the purple & green! I'm the same way, my Easter dresses are typically floral(it just seems more Easter-y somehow!). This year I scored an adorable dress from Kohls Apt.9 collection for $26 that has a great blush tone floral pattern and pockets! I've been saving it for about a month to wear for Easter.:)

These dresses are so cute! Our church is really, really casual and I miss the days of my past where ladies and little girls pulled out the Easter dresses and hats. There was something really special about it and I kind of wish we could go back that direction. Maybe next (it might be too late for this year) we could do a DRESS UP ON EASTER CHALLENGE across the blogosphere and see if we could bring it back...that would be a fun collaboration!!

  3. My favorite is the first dress. The cardigan goes perfectly well with the dress. So lovely! Have a great Sunday.

  12. Love the bright floral. You're right - super Eastery! I can't decide what to wear for Easter this year. I bought two dresses - one pink and lacy and girly, and another one cream and gold and sophisticated. Hmmm. Will post pics later this week and get opinions. Then maybe I can decide. :)
I also love the gray dress on the far left. So pretty.

  17. Very cute- I love the last one actually the best! The shape and floral print is my fave! But they are all darling! I am curious, you've probably mentioned it before- but do you use a sunless tanner, or are you just in the sun getting tan all the time? I know you live in orlando, but still! Girl, you are so TAN!! I don't think I could EVER get that tan even if I tried- haha!

  18. what if its freezing cold and i would need to wear either dress pants or a skirt with tights/boots? its hard to make an outfit like that seem springy...

  19. Thanks Rachel! The bottom left photo is my natural skin color (photo taken in the dead of winter) and the bottom middle and left were last summer when I had a "tan.: I'm American Indian so I'm naturally dark + add in the fact that I live in Florida. I use SPF though and I don't use sunless tanning, spray tan, or tanning beds.

  20. I think you can definitely still make it springy! I would wear something like this with boots and a coat: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/fbx/?set=a.163483153677429.45093.120030604689351#!/photo.php?fbid=169784596380618&set=a.163483153677429.45093.120030604689351&type=1&theater

  21. LOVE it...that is the perfect Easter dress!! Flower dresses on Easter are a must! I got an adorable cream, black and green floreal Max Studio dress on Ebay for $19.99 that I plan to wear. I am currently looking or shoes so when I find them I will try to post a pic on your FB page.

  22. I love the two grey metallic dresses from Banana Republic! I was looking on their website but I couldn't find them. Did you buy them at the store recently?

    Thanks!

P.S. This is such a great site!!

  23. Please do, I would love to see! :-)

  24. Megan, thank you!! The dress on the left I bought in the day-after-Christmas sales this year. The one in the middle I've had for at least 3 years!

  25. Oooh I'm so glad and a little jealous that you bought that dress. I've been stalking it on the Victoria's Secret website, but it went out of stock recently. I never pulled the trigger because it was a) expensive on the website (I think they listed it at $58, plus another $10.99 for shipping. ouch!) and b) it's hard for me to gauge what size I am from that clothing brand. Can I ask what size you bought your dress in? Thanks. Btw, you look cute. Very Easter-y and spring-y.

  26. Anne, thank you! I'm always a little nervous to order online but they only had one size (a size 4) so it made it a little easier to decide. I generally wear a size 2 in dresses, but in this dress that would have been too small so I say go up a size if you are getting it!

  27. My first choice is a dress and cardigan on Easter too! However, it's often cold on Easter and I live in California! Actually one of my favorite Easter outfits turned out to be quality weight white trousers, a pink and green argyle polo (that I usually wear for spring golf), with a Kelly green cardigan and a headband. I even had some j.crew pastel madras wedges for more Easter preppy! I love robin's egg blue or baby duck yellow on Easter too. I'll have to add purple like you did next Easter! Thanks:)

  28. Love love love your Easter purple & Green Dress. It would also work for Sunday Brunch, Mother's Day or a Wedding Shower. Love that it's so colorful, floral and cheerful. I love your other 3 options too, all of them are fantastic dresses esp. the 2 from Banana Republic. However the middle dress I think is more of a chic work dress which can double as a cocktail dress. Out of the 3 options, the floral one with the lavender cardi, is my pick for Easter.

  29. Love your Easter dress choice and love your website! Do you know if we can still get your easter dress outfit online still ? I was looking on the website but couldn't find it!

  30. Thank you Alisha! MJR Sales stock changes quickly (it's sort of like TJ Maxx, you never know what you are going to find!), but it's not likely that you would find this dress almost a year later (you could keep checking though!). I'm actually going to be doing a huge closet sale soon and will be selling this dress. If you are my size I'm happy to reserve it for you!

  31. Thanks J! I think we are about the same size I wear a 2 normally but it always depends on the dress! I would love to buy the dress! When are you doing your closet sale? I would be interested in other outfits of yours if you will be selling them too! Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yep, I wear a 2 also! I am hoping to have time to do the sale in mid-March, if not then early April. I always post the items on Facebook, and everything sells out in 20 minutes so that's why I offered to just set this aside for you. Feel free to email me (jseverydayfashion@gmail.com) and I will let you know when the sale is happening so you don't miss it!
