Today's Everyday Fashion: Party Like a Rockstar

Partying like a rockstar tonight? How about a dress that's super-sexy and yet as comfy as pajamas? I rest my case. :-)  I love the "slouchy" style of this dress (and all the clothes by Lamixx, an independent designer on Etsy). I've got plans to also pair this dress with brown and turquoise this summer and if I ever get pregnant I figure this could be one adorable maternity shirt. I am headed out tonight with the girls (karaoke might be in my future) - so tell me:

Would you rock Nicky Hilton's/my look for a night out? What's your typical going out attire?

Occasion: Partying like a rockstar

Faux leather jacket (left): Forever 21, $40

  1. This is a great look with great porportions! I like dresses for nites on the town- they are much more comfy than jeans. You go girl- have a fun nite!

  2. Really cute and sexy outfit. Normally I stick to a variety of jeans when going out. Legs aren't as great so I would consider wearing it as a shirt. Saw a young lady yesterday at Dr's office with a shirt on like this thought it was very cute. I am 38 yrs old. Do you think it is appropriate for my age range? Also, the zebra print dress you wore the other day, would it double as a shirt as well?

  4. I think this would look great as a shirt with some slim jeans for a lady who wants to cover her legs/is in your age range! Lamixx also makes some slouchy t-shirts like this, would also be really cute. The zebra dress wouldn't work as a shirt because it has a lot of structure, lining and seams in it. Hard to explain but if you saw it in person you'd see what I mean! :-)

  6. Not a lot of going out these days - I have a toddler - but I would absolutely wear that for a date. You're right it would be an awesome maternity dress/top! Great date look.

  7. Hi J! I've been following your blog for about 2 months now & I can honestly say you have inspired & motivated me try new trends - so thank you for that!! I have a challenge/need more inspiration for you on this one: my wedding shower is in July and I need a conservative (it's at a country club) dress that isn't too short or have a scoopy neck (all the bending and picking up presents.. and nothing too short for the grandmas out there!!). I've been looking on-line and in stores and can't quite find the right dress! I prefer it to be white since its my wedding shower and I don't want to spend a fortune on the dress either. Any suggestions of dresses/looks at stores now for a reasonable price? Thanks for all that you do. Keep inspiring us ladies!!

  8. I wore a very similar outfit out last weekend. Instead of a dress though, I wore dark skinny jeans with a gray slouchy top underneath my leather jacket. I live in upstate NY so the nights are still pretty chilly- not quite dress weather! Enjoy your night J(-:
