Today's Everyday Fashion: The Look That Started It All

This is the first inspiration photo I ever saved on my computer. It was at least 2-3 years ago and I remember thinking "I could never look as chic as this woman." It's amazing how much a person can learn about shopping and putting together outfits in just a couple years! I love today's outfit but this is also a proud moment for me. If I can do this stuff guys, then I know you can too! :-)

Occasion: Work
Inspiration photo: J.Crew
Shirt: Limited, $30
Skirt: LOFT, $55 (recent)
Belt: H&M, $20
Necklace: Banana Republic, $40
Shoes: Bandolino/TJ Maxx, $25
Watches: Michael Kors, family gift
Bracelets: Forever 21, $8

Orlando peeps - I wanted to let you know about a great local event that I'm looking forward to attending this Saturday, April 23rd from 2 to 6 p.m.! It's called Wine Women & Shoes, and it's a fundraising event hosted by the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. The day includes hors d’oeuvres prepared by Chef Jean Louis, wine from Napa Valley, shopping from national and local boutiques, a live silent auction and a live fashion show. One hundred percent of the ticket proceeds go toward fighting hunger in Central Florida. For more information and to purchase a ticket go here. Hope to see ya there!

  8. You have done a wonderful job showing how to capture the essence of an outfit. I'm not hesitant about getting inspiration for clothing... It is always the hair and makeup. I just wish it was just as easy to do my hair as it is to find inspiration in someone’s style. I’m very hair impaired. :-(

  9. Me too!!! I'm so bad at doing my hair it's not even funny. 99% of the time what ruins my outfit photos is my hair and I have to re-take the photo! :-)

  10. Hi J! I'm a new follower, but I've been checking out your style blog on and off for some time now. LOVE your wardrobe, and you are so cute! How do you decide what to buy each month? Do you plan it out or just pick up whatever catches your eye? I'm trying to convince my hubby that I need a monthly clothes budget too, although living in Boston it's much harder to get good pieces for my $$. You know how it is! Thanks for great style inspiration!!

  11. Thank you and welcome to the blog! I actually do a post each month that explains how much I spent and how I decided to buy it. You can find my budget posts under "Favorite Posts & Videos" in the upper right corner. I'm also planning to do a longer budget post soon where i explain how to decide the amount of your clothing budget. You can tell your hubby that clothes are a necessity though and you should set aside at least a little bit of your income! ;-)
