Today's Everyday Fashion: Flower Child
I love a floral tops. 1. When you're in a hurry, you can just throw one on with jeans and instantly look cute! 2. When the weather is rainy and yucky, it cheers up your day. Yesterday was both of these things. I was in a hurry (when am I ever not?), rushing to get to some meetings in the rain. I started with this floral shirt and decided to go 70's flower child and pair it with some flared jeans. Voila - instant outfit! :-)
Styling tip: This shirt has a shirred waistband and is already cinched at the waist. I added a belt over it purely for decoration/to dress it up a bit! Also, I'm a huge fan of using a beige cami underneath shirts instead of one that is stark white. This creme-colored is not as dark as my skin color but is also not as contrasting as white, which can make a huge difference in an outfit.

ReplyDeletebeautiful floral print shirt!! love the belt addition. :)
ReplyDeletecute & little
Random comment... Women wearing rain boots as normal boots, at work... when they are not running around, outside, in the rain. Thoughts??
ReplyDeleteGreat question Tracy. I think it's kind of the equivalent of wearing a trench coat indoors, no? I personally don't think I would do it, UNLESS during the course of the day I needed to run inside and outside a bunch. Or unless I forgot to bring shoes to change into. :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, you are right... Not sure I'd be doing that either. :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously...that is my favorite top of yours so far! Sooo cute! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, totally agree about the rain boots...hence the name...RAIN boots.
I'm trying to buy that top right now (LOVE IT!) and The Unique Closet's website is super slow. It has timed out on my about 5 times already. Is it always this slow?
ReplyDeleteThanks Stephanie! The website is usually not slow, but they told me they sold out of the shirt this morning. :-( Sorry about that, if I spot anything similar I'll let you know!
ReplyDeleteIt worked! :-) I checked this morning after I saw your post and they were out of the S and M. Then I checked after work and there was a medium available. After continually trying, the site worked and now I can't wait to get my shirt!
ReplyDeletewhen and how did u score those $14 jeans??? ugh, i can't find deals like that!
ReplyDeleteJoyce, Gap runs "extra 40-50% of sale" deals in the store a lot and that's when I found these! It was sometime in January, they were marked at $30 so I got them for half! You can find insane deals there though, I've gotten belts for $3, silk shirts for $10, but it's always in the store. You won't find that deal online!
ReplyDeleteyou should show the outfit before the belt and after so we can see how it makes the outfit different.
ReplyDeleteRachelle, just click the link to the shirt and you can see a picture without the belt on the website!
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute and girly. This is not a typical outfit for you. You look a little bohemian and I love that top on you, it adds some curves. I have a ton of floral tops which I love and wear a lot, myself.
