Styling tips: I'm a huge fan of short-shorts, but I'm always careful to balance them out with a loose-fitting shirt with sleeves. If you prefer to show off the top-half, the same rules apply. Don't pair a tube-top with tiny shorts - wear it with jeans or a loose skirt.

So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove your top! Is this silverish or more grey- hard to tell online!
ReplyDeleteThe tops is kind of a taupe-gray, and the beads on it are a dark gold! It is hard to tell from the picture!
ReplyDeleteThe earrings are adorable. Love the outfit. Looking forward to seeing pics of makeovers.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I cleaned out my mother's closet. I kept a lot of her tunics for her. She loves a tunic. Thanks for showing outfits using them. We substitute bermuda shorts. Your legs are to die for. I would wear anything mini with legs like those.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Vina
ReplyDeleteI've been following your blog for awhile now to get inspiration. I was hoping you can give me a few pointers. I am 25, and work in a job where I wear a uniform pretty much everyday (but I can add jewelry, etc). I work until sometimes 10pm at night. I recently realized I don't like anything I own. Hardly anything!! Its like after college I completely missed the boat on style. I don't even know where to begin. I need to update, asap. Any pointers to get my going? Online shopping?
ReplyDeleteI love that you're wearing shorts today. I just bought some yesterday and am already stressing about how to style them. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI really wish the weather here in Ireland was nice enough for shorts! Once again you rocked the look!
ReplyDeleteAny tips for a short girl like me who would love to wear shorts but just doesn't have the thighs for them?

so pretty, loove that top! I can't wait to see the before and after pictures! do you ever "style" your husband? haha :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I can't wait to see the pictures either. My hubby is not really into clothes - he pretty much wears soccer jerseys all the time. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhitney, if you are looking for some new stores to shop check out my online shopping guide - the blue link in the top right. It sounds like since you have a work uniform that you should focus on finding some fun/casual clothes that you love? Set a budget, think about some items you might love to wear out (black skinny jeans, a fancy top?) and hit the mall. A couple good pieces should give you lots of new options!
ReplyDeleteAre your shoes comfortable? I just picked them up from Ross (same Guess style), but am not sure about them since the uppers aren't leather. I'm concerned they will cut into my feet since there isn't any give.
ReplyDeleteMine are 100% leather! Are you sure yours aren't? I've worn these for 8 hours a day all week and they are super comfortable. Probably the most comfy shoes I've ever owned, and that includes my flip-flops! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh I love those earrings! My hubby loves long earrings. I have to have them. Congrats on the men's photo shoot. I love being pushed out of my comfort zone. And I ascribe to the same styling philosophy of billowy on 1/2 of the body and small/formfitting on the other 1/2. As always, you look awesome!
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit for a fun event- way to go J! Also, I love your hair like that!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are talking about this much abused fashion advice.... If you're going to wear something suuuuuper short, BALANCE the top half with a little more coverage, and vice versa with baring your top half/cover the bottom half. I see so many of these fashion faux paux's on women and it 'cheapens' their look!
ReplyDeleteAnd this is a great outfit!
Thanks j!! I will check out the links, and keep you posted. :D
ReplyDeleteThat shirt is so beautiful! you look so chic!

I LOVE this outfit! Great tips on pairing short shorts with something with a little more coverage.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I double checked, and my style is slightly different, but they're 100% manmade. I think I'll keep looking to find something I know will be comfortable. Too bad because I love the style/color overall.
ReplyDeleteI am loving those earrings!
