Today's Everyday Fashion: Retro Chic
I have been in love with this inspiration photo for months, so I was really excited to finally have all the pieces to create it! This look has a bit of a retro vibe and reminds me of a 60's diner for some reason (maybe it's the polka dots? or the mix of aqua and mustard?).
Why this works: This shirt has a lot of volume, so I balanced it out with some super-skinny pants. Belting it also helps contain the volume and create more of a waistline.
Photo left: BananaRepublic.com
Cardigan: Banana Republic, $35 (I think it's the same one in the inspiration photo)
Shirt: LOFT, $20
Belt: Gap, $10
Necklace: Banana Republic, $20
Jeans: Gap, $35
Shoes: TJ Maxx, $25

ReplyDeleteI love this outfit! The blue happens to be my favorite and goes so well with the shoes. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteI just love this outfit! Super cute & yet still work-practical!
ReplyDeleteI've been following your blog for a couple of months now, and while it's fabulous and I use it for outfit inspiration, I find the budgeting doesn't really work for Canadian followers. The cost of your outfit today was $145 USD. If I were to buy each of those items in the Canadian versions of the stores, it would cost ballpark $250 CAD. It's too bad that shopping in Canadian stores costs so much more, especially since the Canadian dollar is at par with the American dollar right now!
one of my favorite outfits yet! when did you get the shirt from loft? i just checked the website and couldnt find it, but i love it so much!
ReplyDeleteVery Adorable. I love all the different colors and it look great on you.

Thanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteMegan, I posted about buying the shirt in early November (see link below). It was majorly marked down when I bought it, so would probably be hard to find! :-(
