Today's Everyday Fashion: Tweed Trousers
Don't you love it when you hold onto something and it winds up coming in handy? I bought these tweed trousers more than 5 years ago, and I immediately got them out of "storage" (our guest room) when I saw this picture of Charlize Theron on FabSugar.com. Her pants are a bit more modern with a skinny leg and some pleating, but I decided to re-create the look with a navy silk shirt and black boyfriend blazer. Work appropriate and comfy, I love!
Occasion: Work
Black blazer: Express
Blue silk shirt: Banana Republic, $50
Pants: American Eagle
Earrings: Urban Outfitters, $5
Watch: Fossil
Boots: Forever 21, $33

I love this look! I might have to dig out some of my old 'work' pants and try this look. I have the same shirt :)

LOVE IT!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit. what do you think about wearing black shoes/boots instead of grey in it?
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! :-)
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, black boots could definitely work with this outfit. I went with a taupe color because it matched what Charlize was wearing - and it elongates your legs when you wear a similar color shoe as your pants!
Very stylish. I love!
ReplyDeleteLove your recreation. Do you know who designs Charlize's pants? They are amazing.
ReplyDeletei want those pants!
ReplyDeleteTweed trousers are the best! They must have been all the rage about 5 years back because that's when I picked mine up, too. Now I only wish I could find more like them in stores (I even posted a love letter about my tweed trousers last night: http://the-new-professional.blogspot.com). Our pants are sort of similar. I like the way you've styled them!
ReplyDeleteit's simple, elegant, classy, stylish and flattering. i love it and would wear it myself.
ReplyDeleteYoure absolutely gorgeous and I love following your blog! But just for reference, what are you stats/measurements?
ReplyDeleteHope you have a happy weekend!
I love this look! This is definitely something I would wear! I have a black boyfriend blazer from Target that I have to force myself not to wear everyday! You just gave me an excuse to wear it more (:
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! ;-)
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, sorry I'm not sure who designs Charlize's pants. ASOS has tons of great cropped trousers with pleats though, I would check out their website for a look-alike pair.
Kerri, details on my measurements are under the "Q&A with J" section, but I'm 5'7" and I'm a size 2.
I actually like your outfit twice as much as hers. Charlize's pants are cute in a celebrity way, but I would never wear them. I would totally wear the outfit that you have on though. It's great!
ReplyDeleteLove the tweed!
ReplyDeleteI re-created this outfit and wore it to work earlier this week. I love it!
