Today's Everyday Fashion: Lucky magazine
I love this inspiration photo from Lucky magazine. But I'm not sure I would have the guts to wear a plaid blanket and leather shorts with tights, all at the same time, and it's definitely not appropriate for work. My version is a little toned down, but still has all the fun of pairing a red sweater, olive shirt and turquoise necklace - a new combination that I'm loving!!
Photo left: Luckymag.com
Occasion: Work, holiday errands
Sweater: Gap
Olive shirt: Forever 21, $8
Necklace: Aldo, $15
Jeans: Gap, $30
Boots: Cynthia Rowley/TJ Maxx, $85
Also: just a heads up that I'm taking a bit of a break over the next couple weeks. I'll still be posting tons of outfits! They will just be more random, and not at the same time everyday like usual. :-) I need a bit of a creative break + want to enjoy the holiday with friends and family! Happy Holidays everyone!!

I saw this Lucky cape at the Tim Gunn fashion show. So cute and comfy! We were saying how we could re-use throw blankets to achieve the same look. :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE your version of this outfit!! And you could totally rock the leather shorts with tights and plaid blanket ;)
ReplyDeleteenjoy your break, you deserve it!! :)
I agree. A blanket as outerwear may be a little too much, but I love your interpretation of this outfit...and all of your outfits for that matter.
ReplyDeleteI just stumbled across your blog and I love every single post. It is one of the first pages I visit every day.

LOVE that sweater! (I remember it from your previous black friday post) Also loving the dark jeans with the black boots...they blend and make your legs look super long
ReplyDeleteWow J, you totally rocked this look, and I actually like yours better! Love your creativity!
ReplyDeleteYeah, the blanket...... Not me. However I do have the booties the girl from the inspiration photo is wearing.

I'll never have enough shoes

I absolutely love this look! I'm glad that you toned down Lucky's version a bit- this is much better. And those boots. Gorgeous-- what a great find at TJ Maxx!
ReplyDeleteLike yours better!!!
ReplyDeleteI like both looks, but definitely like your version of the mag look more.
ReplyDeleteI also like yours better. I just have no use for leather shorts in my town...there would only be comments about my "night job" if I wore them. Your look is totally cute and something I would feel good wearing. I would have never put the turquoise necklace with the olive shirt, but it really is pretty. Thanks for showing us how to take a magazine look and make it wearable.
