Today's Everyday Fashion: Fail/Pass

Photo left: My inspiration from J.Crew.com
Middle photo: FAIL. My first attempt at this look. The sweater is too long to pair with this skirt and jacket, so the whole look is making me look short. And a bit sloppy.
Right photo: PASS. I tucked in the sweater and moved the belt down. A figure-flattering version of my inspiration photo!

Occasion: Work
Jacket: Banana Republic, $90
Cardigan: Banana Republic, $14
Shirt: Banana Republic, $15
Belt: c/o Banana Republic Florida Mall
Skirt: Banana Republic, $40
Booties: Forever 21, $33
Earrings: Urban Outfitters, $5

  1. Thank you for showing a fail! This happens to me all the time and it's nice to see that they can be easily fixed. Very informative :)

  3. So gorgeous!! I wouldn't call the middle one a fail though, more like a "eh" haha. it's not bad enough to be a "fail". :)

  4. wow what a difference..great outfit in the end! I guess it's about proportion, hike up that skirt's hem a little and you could leave the sweater untucked! Love it.

  8. SO SMART! I would throw on the first outfit and then totally change outfits, not even thinking that something so simple like tucking in the sweater could change the whole look!!!! seriously great tips...I also love that you showed something that didn't work so well and how you improved the 'look'

looking for a pair of cute knee high winter boots (no heel) maybe with some faux fur but don't want them to look cheap...let me know if you have any suggestions!!

  9. Love the look, although I think it would work even better if you shortened the skirt a few inches.

  10. I love how you juxtapose these two looks and show how you can work with the same pieces to create a more polished, put-together look. This just shows that style is not about the pieces but how you put it together. Please do more of these! I love your blog! :)
