Today's Everyday Fashion: Trouser Repair

You know when you buy something that doesn't fit, and you promise yourself that you will get it tailored, and then it sits in your closet for months? That's the story behind these pants. I bought them online a few months ago, and now they finally fit! My first order of business was to copy this look from Refinery29. (Note, if you are planning to order these pants: they fit true to size in the waist, but I had to have the crotch area taken in.)

Pants: Gap, $15
Blazer: Gap, $70
T-shirt: Gap, $10
Scarf: The Limited
Shoes: Chinese Laundry/Piperlime, $34
Bag: Juicy Couture
Watch: Fossil

Man, I hate taking things to the tailor. They always make pieces look so much better, but I get lazy about getting around to taking them over...

  5. Your version of outfits is always cuter than the celebrity version. You make fashion look so easy, fun, and wearable!

Can I vote again with this new round??

  6. I have those exact same pants and have the same crotch problem, but I haven't had the energy to bring them to the tailor. They look great!

  7. CONGRATS on moving to the next round lady!! Re: this outfit, I really love it. The blazer especially, it looks great on you, great cut. And good call getting the pants tailored, they came out really nice.

  8. Very cute, J! Is the scarf near your left shoulder in a pocket? The contrast on my computer screen isn't very good.

  9. Thanks everyone!! I really appreciate your votes. Teri, unfortunately you can only vote one time per email address, but thank you for asking.

Erin, you are correct - that is a scarf tucked into my blazer pocket. You can see details in my post today called "four ways to change up a blazer"!

  10. If you don't mind me asking, you already got an interview for the Sunglass Hut position?

  11. Anonymous, I believe the in-person interviews happen later in the process, but I had a phone interview with them last week! :-)
