Today's Everyday Fashion (failure!)

I looooove Blake Lively's outfit (left), but my attempt to re-create came up a little... bell-bottomed. :-) The fit of my pants is all wrong for this look but if I find some high-waisted peach trousers at least I have the rest of the outfit ready to go!

Now tell me: would you wear Blake Lively's pink look?

Shirt: Banana Republic, $15
Belt: Gap, $3
Necklace: Stella & Dot, c/o stylist Lori McMinn
Pants: Kansas boutique
Shoes: Banana Republic, $20

  1. it is a little bell bottomed, but i prefer that over the drapey weirdness of the other pants.

  2. I agree, I'd rather wear your outfit than Blake's in real life...maybe if you tried skinnies it would work better? Love the necklace!

  3. J, I actually really like your bell-bottomed version of the outfit!!! It's kind of retro but fresh at the same time!! Plus, the bell-bottom is much more wearable for most ladies...I'm pretty sure those pleated pants Blake has on would make me look like a giant hot air balloon gone awry!

  4. Very few can pull off the pleated pants look anyways. I love your bell bottom look. So retro chic :)

  5. Very few can pull of Blake's look, it looks like something straight out of Elle magazine. Your look is a little too "bell-bottom-y" but I still like it!

  7. To truly mimic Blake's Gossip Girl outfit I'd say you should search for high-waisted pants in a gray tone. I like the *almost* monochromatic look Blake has going. And I'd say menswear shoes or lace-up booties are important as well.

  10. BTW I meant Blakes look. I love your re-creations but I agree with you. The bell-bottom look doesn't do it for me. You still wore it well.

  11. Thanks everyone! Loved hearing what you think of my crazy pink bell-bottoms. :-) A Facebook fan posted a link to these pants, which I think are the perfect solution. They are coral trousers from ASOS for $65. Way better than my pants, and not nearly as huge as Blake's.
