Lifestyle changes ahead

So, I have some news... I’ve known this was coming for more than 9 months, but as of September I will be losing my job. There are going to be some lifestyle changes of course, so here’s the plan! 1. My budget for clothes is going away completely. 2. I will have more time for fashion-y things, so will still be posting plenty of outfits, I’ll just be getting really creative with my existing clothes. 3. I will be selling some clothes. 4. I’m looking for a new marketing job, so if you know of anything in Central Florida, please send it my way! ;-)
(picture is of my dog Tucker, for no reason other than to make you smile!)

  2. Sorry to hear about that J. I actually started a blog about a month ago in order to use all of my existing clothes...I have WAY too much stuff. It's a lot of fun, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

I'm from NJ, so I don't know much in the FL area but will keep my ears opened for you. You're a very creative person, so I'm sure you'll land somewhere soon.

Your dog is SUPER adorable. What kind of dog is he/she? Looks like a little stuffed animal!

  3. Sorry about the job, but I'm glad to hear you'll continue with the blog! I'll be starting school in the fall, meaning I wont have money either, so I'll have to learn to make do with most of what I have as well!

  5. Jamilia, thank you. In general blogs aren't a great way to make money, however, I am considering some different fashion careers, we will see!

Diana, thank you! Tucker is a Shorkie - Shih Tzu, Yorkie mix. We joke that he is a living stuffed animal all the time. He's a total sweetie. :-)

Justine, we are in this together chica! Time to get creative!

Emily, thank you for the encouragement! Trying to believe that it's all for the best. :-)

  6. Don't worry J. Good things are coming your way. You should ditch marketing and just go full on fashion!!! I'm sure all of us would love to pay you to give us makeovers or redo our closets!

And you've already had such success you should go for it and show the agencies what you've accomplished. They're bound to be impressed for sure!

    And Tucker is adorable.

  10. Thanks everyone for the encouragement! Anonymous, that is hilarious and thank you for letting me know what swaggin means. :-)

I was just looking at this verse, and even though I've read it a million times I find it amazing that it actually says "what you will wear"! God cares about my little fashion blog and if you don't believe me, it's written in the Bible, lol! :-)

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?" Matthew 6:25-27 NIV

  16. Hi,

You should really consider how you can make money off of what you are currently doing as a hobby, this blog!

Wish you the best of luck in finding a new job! In the mean-time, use your mad marketing skills to brainstorm how to leverage this blog. :)

  17. Thanks Rachel, Julie and Schmidts!! I super-appreciate everyone's love and support! I know lots of people are in the same boat job-wise and I look forward to getting creative with no budget!

Katelyn, in general blogs aren't a great way to make money but my marketing brain is definitely thinking of ways I can expand with all the free time I'll have. Hoping that this will lead to a book deal or some magazine work eventually (my degree is in Journalism), we'll see!! :-)
