I actually have that same dress though I thought twice about buying it because it didn't fit quite properly but it has this 50s look and aura to it that I love. I will give it a try pairing it with a boyfriend blazer, sometime. I like this look, I don't think I love it. I think Maggie Gyllenghal did it best, by far.
