My friend Melonie sells Noonday as an Ambassador, and when she asked me to style some pieces and offered to take photos (she's also a photographer - check out her website Imago Photography), I said yes please! (I was in no way compensated for this post.) I think you will agree that the gear I'm rocking is pretty amazing, now if only I wasn't having the worst hair day ever it would be even better. :-)
Please check out Melonie's Noonday website, along with some other friends of mine with fashion companies for a cause:
Melonie - Noonday
Lindsey - 4 Love
Katie - Elegantees
Lizzie - Market Colors
What similar fashion companies do you support? Which outfit is your favorite?

I love the outfit with the jeans and striped shirt. I will definitely check out the jewelry from Noonday. What jeans are you wearing in those pics?
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to ask about the jeans, they rock! :) I love bootcut jeans, that are just a tad wider at their botoom than along the legs, almost straight with just a bit of a flare at the end... Love both outfits, maybe the first one a bit more... that clutch is amazing :)
ReplyDeleteThe first necklace is so gorgeous, will check out their sites.

These are bootcut Hudsons I've had for about 6 years. They have been featured on the blog many times! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love this post! The accessories are gorgeous - I especially love the clutch and the belt. I love learning about new shops that give back - the one that I like to shop at is a-thread. I know it's so hard to give back when you are a smaller storefront, so I appreciate any "give-back" mentality. I hate to be repetitive, but seriously those jeans fit you great. I am struggling to find a good pair of straight (not skinny straight) and/or bootcut lately - probably need to just keep trying them on. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove your accessories. Such beautiful colors. <3

Omg wow! I love those boot cut jeans on you. They are so flattering, you should definitely wear them more often ...I always love reading your blog especially when you take a trend and show various options from different stores, it's setter of like you are my personal shopper, I have no time and so yr work is great. Lol...but really those jeans. Perfection on you
ReplyDeleteThe jewelry is great, but what kind of jeans are those?
ReplyDeleteI love both of these outfits!! You look wonderful and the jewelry really is cute (and it always helps that it's a great cause)! :)

At the risk of appearing to fawn, I want to remind you that we view ourselves with a more critical eye than others do. For that reason, upon reviewing the photos again after reading that you regretted a bad hair day, I could not discern what you are talking about. The jewelry is lovely, and so are you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen! These are my favorite jeans and always will be. I can't wear flats (too long) or boots with them though, so skinny jeans are necessary a lot of the time for that. :-)
ReplyDeleteNashelle designs uses all recycled materials which I love. They also did a "pay it forward " bracelet for Sandy- all proceeds went to Sandy relief!
ReplyDeleteTara @ secretsofamomaholic.com ! This is what happens while typing with 2 kids on your lap! lol
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the necklace in the first pics but your outfit in the second is to-die-for-cute! I love fairtrade accessories - they always have that edgy tribal feel.

I love fashion for a cause. The company that I work for also sells fair trade items. Such cute jewelry!
ReplyDeleteBEST. POST. EVER. The pictures are amazing. The accessories are beautiful. I love that companies like Noonday help assist women globally. Wish there were more companies doing this. We're all one village after all. :-)
ReplyDeleteP.S. Your hair looks great!
Daylight suits you!! So nice to see pics lately outdoors in the world!!
ReplyDeleteYay! Thanks for featuring Noonday. I am also an ambassador and love that the word is out!
ReplyDeleteI do NOT think you were having a bad hair day! I was just thinking "she did her hair different today, and it's adorable!" Love your hair in this post! You look beautiful :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a pleasure to collaborate with you, friend! Thank you so much for sharing with your readers about The Noonday Collection and my photography. :)
ReplyDeleteAre those paper bead necklaces?
ReplyDeleteI work at an art museum and our shop sells jewelry that looks very familiar =) Love them!
Great pieces! I love the second outfit, although the jeans from the first one have a really nice fit. Companies like that are great. One of our local coffee shops has a Global Shop where they sell things like that.

Yep, paper bead necklaces by our artisan group in Uganda. They have some pretty awesome designs! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the necklace with first outfit, it just pops against the striped shirt! Also, where is the shirt from, I want to think you have posted it on your blog before but can't remember.... You also look great in the jeans, I love dark jeans with a flare!
ReplyDeleteI really love the clutch in the first look!!! Totally admire your support of Fashion for a Good Cause!

*Beautiful* jewelry............ *beautiful* outfits............ *WONDERFUL* causes!!
ReplyDeleteI was so t.o.u.c.h.e.d. by the story/picture of Geeta, profiled right after your 1st outfit............ in the m.i.d.d.l.e. Noonday Bracelet link, (i.e., Gypsy Stack Bracelets: Turquoise - Bracelet)............ who "works with an artisan group in New Delhi, India. The oldest of 7 children"----(as I am, too, by the way!!)----"Geeta left school early to help support her family. .... The fair wage she earns has enabled her to help support her family, and to continue sending her younger siblings to school." Such a pretty, strong/determined, and compassionate young woman Geeta is, J.!!
I simply love both of your outfits here; and almost think you and the model pictured right after your 2nd outfit............ in the f.i.r.s.t. Noonday Bracelet link, (i.e., Tagua Seed Bracelet: Seagreen - Bracelet)............ could be *fashion twins*!! In this link's third thumbnail photograph, it looks as if the model might be walking a dog----(i.e., because she's holding a retractable leash)----however, if your *super-cute* little (Yorkie//Shih Tzu) Bella had been with you, J. ............ I think sweet Bella might've just trumped ALL, (haha!!)............ (of Melonie's lovely Noonday accessories featured here)............ to be THE Cutest "Accessory," though!!
I love Sevenly! I don't buy things from them all that often, but I think their causes are wonderful :)
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute! I love the necklaces! And I love fashion with a cause! Glad you shared!

I love your casual outfit. And that clutch is fantastic. Very reasonably priced, and it's always so nice to know that the money is going to actually support the artisan, and not a multi-national middleman.
ReplyDeleteI'm a longtime lurker, and I love that you're featuring some brands in this post that are socially conscious! I've recently been trying to be a better consumer in that respect, and a lot of the brands we're fans of - Gap, Limited, Target, Forever21, etc. - sell items made in China and other places overseas where they can pay the workers next to nothing to make the most profit...Have you given any thought to that? Would love some tips on finding more stylish options either with causes like the above or made in America!
ReplyDeletelove your outfits - i'm a newcomer and have really enjoyed following your blog! i actually volunteer overseas with a group called Freedom Stones that makes jewelry as income generation for women who have been trafficked or young boys and girls at risk of dropping out of school and being trafficked for labor or sex. their website is http://freedomstones.ws/ - check it out!
ReplyDeleteI love these outfits and the Noonday cause. I am new to the blog but I LOVE IT! Thanks so much for adding a socially conscious aspect for us to consider.
ReplyDeleteLove this whole post! Where did you get the cute navy blazer?
ReplyDeleteOna competely unrelated note, I love the striped shirt in the first few pictures. Where is it from?
ReplyDeleteThat top is from H&M, about a year ago I believe!
ReplyDeleteThat blazer I've had from Gap for about 5 years now!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rosanna! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat shirt is from H&M, and you are correct - I've worn it many, many times on the blog! :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, I think they are the same! I bought a necklace for my mom in September and she LOVED it!
ReplyDeleteI also came to comment on those jeans - they are fantastic and fit you so great! DId you say where they are from?? I need to find a good pair of jeans.
ReplyDeleteI wear my H&M shirt with everything! It's a lot of fun :) Both outfits are fun - love the navy/red combo and well, stripes are a bit of a crutch for me.

Thank you for sharing info about Noonday! I love finding out about companies like them. My go-to for ethically-conscious clothes and accessories is http://fashioningchange.com/. They have a variety of brands that are all do-gooders. I love it! The jeans and shirts I have from them are super soft, organic, fair-trade, etc. And they are so comfy and cute! It would be so cool to see you style fashion from Fashioning Change. They deserve the exposure. :)
