Printed cardigans... I adore them, but they can be difficult to style! This one reminded me of the retro cardigans at Tory Burch, so it was an immediate "yes" while shopping. After I got it home though it took me awhile to figure out what to do next. I want to try print-mixing a la the inspiration photo soon, but for now stuck with a solid navy top for running errands this week. Despite the wardrobe puzzle these cardigans create, I love so many of the options below and plan to stop in New York & Co. next week to check out the three pictured.

I am a fan of the printed cardi - picked up a black and white leopard print from H&M the other week - but they can look a little busy if you're not careful.

Are these the same mustard jeans from your March 2nd blog post "Juxtapose"? I can't tell. The editing makes them look like a super saturated almost pumpkin orange, which I don't really like with the cardigan, but if they're the same jeans from that other post and are actually that nice mustard yellow, then I actually think this outfit would be adorable in person.
ReplyDeleteYou should take more photos outside in natural light; I think your outfits always really shine better then. Plus, you're in Florida! Where better to take advantage of the sunshine?
I LOVE printed cardigans, but depending on the pattern and the way they're styled, so many of them can look matronly--I always feel like I'm walking a fine line with them. I look forward to seeing how else you style this one! (And any others you may purchase!)
ReplyDeleteI love printed cardigan and need to get a few. Love the mustard pants.

You did a great job with pairing the navy with the mustard! For some reason, I feel like the floral LOFT one would be easiest to style with all of those colors.

Yes, same jeans! I always use 100% natural lighting though, and I also don't edit my photos much if at all - I don't own Photoshop and wouldn't know how to use it! :-)
ReplyDeleteI am definitely open to feedback on photography (I hate hate hate that part of my job), and have been actively talking to several pro photographers about different ways I can do it. I prefer a white backdrop and based on audience feedback you guys do too, and I don't have a yard to set up the backdrop and tripod, plus would be pretty funny to someone walking by. Natural light is way inconsistent though - I can take 3 photos in the same minute and the colors of my skin, hair and the clothes look totally different.
I love the color combo of navy and mustard, they go so well together. I also love the Tory Burch printed cardigans! Thanks for finding similar ones in a reasonable price range!

love your cardigan with these pants!

I love how you gently paired your graphic-patterned cardigan with your *delicate* necklace and *more feminine* shirt............ (i.e., unlike the angular/severe shirt in the Inspiration photograph)!! 'Simply b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l., very skillful styling, J.!!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, if you do get the opportunity to stop in New York & Co. next week, i.e., to check out the three (pictured Above) Graphic and Linear Print Cardigans............ their Graphic Colorblock Chiffon Top - (Style 01506239, with a similar graphic-print pattern) - is printed to almost look like a sleeveless colorblocked blouse............ with a patterned vest OVER it!! Anyway............ (remembering how much you personally just love "military-inspired" pieces; and with Shorts-and-Sandals Weather also *Coming Soon*, too: yay!!)............ when I saw this top's pretty "Military Camel" version online just now, I thought of you, J.!!
I love printed cardigans for the spring especially the floral ones, I like your interpretation of the Tory Burch ensemble!!

I love this cardi. It's so perfect.

Love this look! I have this cardi but haven't worn it yet! Thanks for the inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteI love the bright Loft cardi. It is such a fun palette to work with for the spring!
ReplyDeleteI wear a gray cheetah print cardigan from Old Navy all the time. Wore it today with a hotpink tank, have worn with red and white, and different color pants. It works with so many things! The geometrical prints from New York & Company are interesting, not sure if I could pull it off.
ReplyDeleteDo you ever have any issues with how many things you possibly return...it seems like a lot???
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of long printed cardigans but not so much regular-length cardigans. I like the more casual look of long open cardigans and they can go with so much!

I'm not a fan, but I LOVE you! :) :)
ReplyDeleteI like printed cardigans as a way to spice up my conservative work outfits without being inappropriate or too trendy. I have several print cardigans from Target that have lasted very well.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite one above is definitely the black/blue New York and Co. v-neck.
Love the mustard jeans with the navy print!
I actually bought the Old Navy dalmatian print one after you initially posted it. I've struggled a bit with how to style it, because I find it really flashy (I'm in my 30s), but funny enough, I posted about it today - I opted for a fuchsia tank and mint jeans. I'm trying to move away from being matchy-matchy, so this was a departure for me. :D You can check out my look here: http://lesliescloset.ca/2013/03/10/mint-jeans-two-ways/
ReplyDeleteI have that very cardigan! I wear it with a red shirt with white polka dots and get tons of compliments on it. I'll have to try it out with some colorful jeans soon!
