I snapped these pictures on my way out the door yesterday! I put together the bottom outfit first. I love this t-shirt and wear it constantly (this is my third blog post with it), but realized it was too hot for boots and a coat, and the boots were looking a tad awkward. I put together the top outfit next, and wore it for shopping and dinner (see another outfit with the skirt here). It was super comfy, and casual but fun. What's your Saturday shopping style?

I have that skirt & would have never though to pair it with that shirt! And I live on Piperlime! Besides...I live in NY and it's FREEZING here- so no skirt for me!
ReplyDeleteLove the both look, the first is my fave.

When going shopping specifically for clothes, I wear something that I don't mind taking on and off again and again. I like the skirt outfit for that reason. However, living near Chicago, I would have to wear the jeans this time of year. Both are casual and cute.
ReplyDeleteI love your skirt!! I was going to buy that from express last year because I fell in love with it at the store, unfortunately they didn't have my size so I couldn't purchase it, but I still want it!! It reminds me of the more expensive version by All Saints, where I also love to shop and browse.

Did you find any of the items you were looking for? I had a bit of luck at Goodwill yesterday (no skirt though) so I'm going to have to step away from stores for a while.
ReplyDeleteWhen I go shopping I always have a skinny jeans, easy on/off flats, a black tank top and an easy top to pull off/on. and a crossbody bag!
I definitely like to keep it easy and casual for shopping; I don't like for it to feel a hassle for me to get dressed and undressed in the fitting room!!

I am obsessed with your top look J. definitely one of my favorite looks ever on your blog. The chambray shirt is the perfect shade of blue for the shirt and the booties are super cute. :)

I love the way you dressed the skirt down. I really liked it when I saw it in express but didn't know with what/ what for I would wear it!
ReplyDeleteI'm all about an easy, comfy look when shopping!
The boots are awkward with jeans?! What? I think they look great with the jeans; its any skirt with booties that I think looks awkward. Its not you, its the trend, and I have yet to see this trend not look awkward (even the model in the inspiration pic looks like she picked her shoes in the dark!!!)
ReplyDeleteThe first look is the best - that skirt seems to look great with everything you pair it with. I would definitely wear that for a day of shopping. On another note, it's so hard to imagine "weather too hot for jeans, boots, and a jacket" right now :) It's frigid here- ha!

Oh I totally agree! These booties are less awkward with jeans in general - just not the specific pair I'm wearing. I think the opening on the jeans is too wide, and I had to roll them up a little, so it just wasn't vibing. I realize not everyone is fan of the boots and skirt look though. It isa practicality thing for me though - too cold for sandals and I don't do ballet flats so boots are my only flat shoe option! Plus it's kind of quirky and cute. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love that skirt!

I love the idea of pairing a denim shirt with a sequin skirt. Makes the outfit more casual and appropriate for everyday.
