I wore this to church and lunch for a friend's baby dedication yesterday. I've had this dress and shoes for going on five years, but it felt new again by adding my most recent purchases - an ivory boucle jacket and pearl-like bib necklace. I joked that this was my best first lady look, although the purse and chunky watch kept it young and modern. Would this look work in your everyday life?

I could definitely imagine this outfit for a semi formal event like a nice breakfast or banquet, appropriate for the baby dedication. Very nice necklace definitely adds a little something to the simple dress.

Love the new necklace. I have a few things that are over a year old and it's really cool to be able to mix it up and make it feel new again with a jacket or shoes or a necklace! Love this look!

2nd Zara jacket I love that I've seen on your blog! I think you can't go wrong with their blazers. Great dress/outfit - and love that it's an "old" dress and that you can still wear. Some things are just worth investing in!

Love that look! I've had a pink boucle jacket sitting in my closet for years and now I'm going to have to bust it out. Totally never thought to pair it with a sheath!

I want this dress - gray is the new black right?
ReplyDeleteI have this dress and absolutely love it!! I've never thought of wearing it with a jacket - thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteProof that a great classic dress doesn't go out of style! I love this look. I think it would look great with a brightly colored jacket or accessories as well.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love that necklace!!
ReplyDeleteBoucle'~~(even though it's sometimes, not often, used for men's jackets/blazers)~~simply seems to be far more popular with women............ and it's sure easy to see why, too!! Women's boucle' jackets look like they give "structure and presence" to just about any outfit............ yet they're also *so wonderfully feminine*, too!!
ReplyDeleteSince your Stella & Dot Fiona Bib Necklace, with 4-of-the-8 ivory epoxy segments............ (i.e., or "resin slabs," as they're called in the Website Video!!)............ are bezel-set in plain goldtone............ and the remaining 4 segments are bezel-set with (gorgeous!!) *CRYSTAL PAVE' * detailing............ does that then mean, J., that you can wear the necklace "all First Lady -like" (as you've very beautifully done here!!)............ and also maybe just casually to highlight it's plain "resin slabs" (haha!!); and (rocker chic!!) O-link chain, too??
The perfect dress!
