I was re-creating this outfit in my room. I had on the reddish top, the pink jeans, and leopard heels - and I felt bored. Somehow, it was just not as much fun (or as loud) as the inspiration. The burgundy necklace was the missing piece - similar color as my shoes, and her belt. If a more low-key look is your style, you could easily switch to blue or black jeans, or remove the necklace. How would you wear this look?

I love it! This would be cute for Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteThat necklace definitely ties the outfit together. I love this outfit though! I'd be afraid of putting together a bright top with colored skinnies, but this is definitely the right way to do it. I like the theme of red!
ReplyDeletevery cute... the necklace def gives it that extra uuumph :)

Cute outfit, I would wear it but I don't have any soft pink bottoms :( I guess I need to go shopping.

I like the way you altered the inspiration photo. It may not be as loud, but that actually appeals to me. I think it makes it much more wear-able. I really like red with pink, too! :)
ReplyDeleteI really like the way your outfit turned out. The different shades work very well together and you can never go wrong with a splash of leopard! Heather
ReplyDeleteI don't know why, but I've never been a fan of red and pink together? (Also, J, I had NO idea how you used facebook to expand your blog like you did! I'd love to pick your brain on that, if you'll let me.)
ReplyDeletebeautiful blouse!

You make this work! Reminds me of Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteI would wear it just like you styled it! It's a fun mix of color for this dreary Winter weather!

Maybe dark pumps, and a leopard scarf? Just for a different look (especially if you're in a cold climate).
ReplyDeleteI really like the blush pink and red combo! Really cute.

I like your look much better than the models. I would probably style the top over some skinny jeans or black ones and/or layer a cardigan or blazer over it. Love the red top. Perfect for Valentines day coming up.

The necklace makes it!
ReplyDeleteI would not have thought to pair these colors together but I love it! I might use a leopard scarf on top with brown flats. I love the necklace though.

I just purchased the same shirt yesterday! The sales associate recommended pairing the top with white jeans and a gold belt; she was wearing black crops and a black and white vest. I can't wait to wear the top with colorful skirts in the spring! In the mean time, I have floral jeans I'll definitely be pairing with this top!
ReplyDeleteI love the color combination with the leopard... the inspiration outfit is more my style but you did a wonderful job of making it your own!! :)

Kim, check out this post I did that explains my FB strategy! A lot of it is outdated now with the new FB layouts, etc. And I haven't done any marketing since 2011. It's really just a matter of posting content there everyday that brings people in. http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2012/01/why-i-blog-on-facebook.html
ReplyDeleteI like your look better! :) Looks great!

Don't we just love the bubble necklace! I hope it is a trend that sticks around for awhile. Also, the red looks great on you, I think I need some red piece for the upcoming holiday.

In my town, (i.e., a l.a.r.g.e. college town), it always seems as if "hearts are floatin' in the air" from about mid-January............ through Valentine's Day; (and even those without a specific "romantic" interest are now, thankfully, much-more-often included in this current *Atmosphere Of Love And Kindness*)!! Your outfit would be just perfect, therefore............ for lunch with friends............ going out for drinks and/or dinner............ and (even in some, not all, Grad classrooms here!!) with a neutral blazer; maybe with only your smaller gold pendant necklace; and, say, your new Nine West fawn-brown high-heel loafers, (i.e., as in yesterday's 1/15/13 post)!!
ReplyDeleteI additionally really like how your smaller gold pendant necklace gently "softens" your statement necklace; and also how it goes so well with it, too!! Although the buttons on your silk blouse are white, they almost look~~at first glance!!~~like they're blush pink (like your jeans); so that's another small detail that kind of "softens" your bold, vibrant, and *V.E.R.Y.* pretty* red-and-pink outfit!!
Thanks Rosanna! I love the pendant + bubble combo too. Kind of a happy accident as I already had the pendant on, but my friend Leslie does this a lot and it always looks great! And I love V-day! :-)
ReplyDeleteI remember in elementary school I had a deep belief that pink and red just didn't go together... sorta like black and brown! Growing up opens so many doors of color combination!
ReplyDeleteI am still apprehensive about pink and red together but I LOVE the burgundy necklace with the red top. I have a red blazer that I feel like I always style the same way. I am wearing now and have been thinking that I am getting bored with it but now I am excited for its next wear paired with my new burgundy statement necklace! Thanks J!
ReplyDeleteI love the inspiration picture you chose for today, using a bright and bold red with a soft spoken pink, plus a loud cheetah print. I think this amazingly balances out without overdoing the whole look. I like how you took similar colors, but I think would give an extra pop is definitely the cheetah print cardigan. It's one of my favorite parts of that look!

I was in Target today & all the colored denim was up to 70% off. FYI!

I really like the two shades of red together with the leopard, but I think the pink is a little too much. I think a pair of dark pants would really make this outfit!
ReplyDeletePink and red goes well together.

I love this look! Your look is way better! The pink and red combo is very chic!
