My color inspiration (shop it) |
I'm still in a patriotic spirit from 4th of July festivities yesterday, so I'm sharing a red and blue work look today. Primary colors are something I have worn over and over again (see examples here), but I was inspired by the color story of the striped top above to add light orange into the mix. Would you wear this color combination to work?

Shoes: BCBG/Ross, $20
Necklace: My Stella & Dot website, $79

Before I saw the inspiration photo I totally thought of that shirt when I saw your outfit :-) I love all these colors and wouldn't have thought to put them together. They look great on you and I love how bright the colors are!

ReplyDeleteI love that inspiration blouse. I like how the outfit looks! I think it would be cute with cobalt pants too.
ReplyDeleteI just got a bright blue skirt like that and wore it to work last week for the first time. I work in a very conservative environment but with a white button down and black blazer it was very doable!
ReplyDeleteLove this color combo! Check out my recent post. http://www.fashionatabargain.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteI saw this shirt in the store on the sale rack last weekend. The first thought I had was "a little too bert and ernie for me". I definitely would have grabbed it if i had any major summer picnic or festival but I didn't think I'd get enough wear out of it. Love the palette though!
ReplyDeleteLove all these brights together!! I would never think to pair so many of the colors you pair - thanks for the inspiration!!!

ReplyDeleteThanks Natalia!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Teresa!
ReplyDeleteLove your look. The tank tucked into the blue skirt is adorable! Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteI love this look! That top is gorgeous and I love how you reinterpreted it with pieces that are probably already in everyone's wardrobe! Plus this color scheme is vaguely reminiscent of Wonder Woman, which is too cool :)
ReplyDeleteI would absolutely wear that to work! Sometimes you just need to have a little fun with fashion in the workplace. Love the color combo!
ReplyDeleteThis work-worthy, "Bright Crayons" color mix you put together here, J., is just............ *g.o.r.g.e.o.u.s.*!! The top of your outfit almost looks a little bit like a monochromatic color scheme~~(although it might simply be the coloration on my computer screen!!)~~because your cardigan appears to be a deep "ORANGEY-red"; and your pretty ORANGE Flounce-Trimmed Top also is a "different take," (i.e., paler)............ on the color orange, too!!Your yellow belt makes your outfit really *m.e.m.o.r.a.b.l.e.,* as............ A "Bright Crayons" Outfit!!
ReplyDeleteJ, you always look very pretty and put-together, I like your bright choices however, I would love to see you in something a little "out-of-the-box" maybe something that wouldn't necessarily be an obvious fashion choice but maybe a little bit more of a risk and not so matchy matchy, although keep up the good work I'm very inspired by your blog :)
ReplyDeleteI love that look! I tend to gravitate towards primary colors. It's easy with the color blocking trend as well.
