With the holiday falling on a Wednesday, it's been a strange work week. I know I'm feeling very TGIF, and what better way to make the day go by faster than with a work outfit you are excited to wear. ;-) This mint color has been a favorite of mine for ages and I love it paired with the chocolate-ly tones. I also think this look is a great baby step to adding more color to a closet full of neutrals. What do you wear on Fridays to work?

I live in Chicago and right now we have record heat wave, our high today is 102, heat index well over 110. To say it’s freaking hot is an understatement, LOL. I have on olive shorts (5") and a knit chocolate tank and I'm already dying from humidity. This is not my normal attire, even for casual Fridays. I tend to still prefer to wear more work appropriate lengths and not shorts but I needed to make today an exception. Generally, in the summer, I wear denim capris or skirts that follow the 2” above my knee “rule” I have, although being tall does not always work.
ReplyDeleteBUT, I LOVE the outfit above for any other day of the week- it’s great for our business casual dress code and I love the color combinations.
Stay cool!!
I love chocolate and mint together because it brings out the mint color so much. I like how you added the gray top to it!

LOVE this outfit! Now I am going to have to go home and look through my closet since I know I have a sweater like this in there somewhere!
ReplyDeleteFriday is jeans day at work.. So jeans, a cute top and some grey flats. I even put on a bracelet. I need to work on my arm parties....
I love this outfit! It's exactly how I do color - a nice pop anchored against neutrals. Your outfit would be a M-Th look for my office, and I'm often dressed more professionally than most of my coworkers. For Friday, I usually go with my nice jeans (worn with heels and a blazer), my more casual khaki or linen pants, or maybe a casual skirt-with-flats look. When it gets super hot like it is now, I usually go for a simple summer dress (with a cardigan for the A/C), any day of the work week.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful color combination!
ReplyDeletei'm pretty lucky because we don't really have a dress code in the small office i work in... really there's no dress code... so every day is casual friday. but i do love switching it up so i'm not always rolling into work in yoga pants or something. BUT i love the chocolatey tones with that mint cardigan! such a pretty combination!

We get to wear jeans on Friday, which is fortunate because I LOVE jeans outfits. I like this mint cardigan a lot. It looks lovely with neutrals.
ReplyDeleteI work in the legal dept. of a communications corp., but somehow we don't have a dress code (I am so lucky!) However, Friday is my favourite day to dress up since it seems like I'm always going somewhere after work to meet people for drinks/dinner. It's just easier to already be prepared.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice combo! Your color choices are always head on! :)

Gorgeous! Love it :) And yes COMPLETELY TGIF today. Ugh, very hard to have one day off in the middle of the week!
ReplyDeleteWe have casual Fridays. So today I did one of your other combos. It was the jeans, white t-shirt and white blazer. I don't have a white blazer so I used a white sweater. Our office is freezing!
ReplyDeleteWe have casual friday at work but I like to dress up my jeans so I can easily go from day to night.

I love these neutrals coupled with the mint - it's warm but still refreshing! I was so inspired by yesterdays outfit that today I'm wearing (in Seattle, mind you) red coral skinny jeans (MNG by Mango) w/ rolled cuff, navy floral tank, white short sleeve cardi (since the office is AC'd within an inch of my life) and neutral camel sandals (3" heels). I even took the time to put on an extra bracelet, ring and my larger than life faux diamond studs. I NEVER dress up on Fridays, but since I found your blog (yesterday) I'm feeling totally inspired!!!! Thank you for breathing new life into my closet! I knew I had some good stuff in there! :)
ReplyDeleteUnusual and beautiful color combination, you look great!
ReplyDeleteThat's such a good outfit for a hot blah summer day in an air conditioned office! I wear jeans and a perfect shirt from J.crew pretty much always though today I'm not because I haven't been home to do laundry in a while!
