I wore this playful "Barbie" look for dinner and a movie last weekend. In the same night, I considered a rocker-esque look, and something hippie-ish. In the end, my girlie side won and this is the look I went with. I know many women have really specific personal style. Jennifer Aniston is almost always wearing something preppy, and Nicole Richie is boho. I am more of your Sarah Jessica Parker - a style chameleon who likes to switch things up. When I'm casual I'm usually preppy or boho, but when I'm dressed up the sky is the limit and I will try anything. Rocker, Barbie, tribal, 80's, ballerina, you name it. I'm curious to hear which profile you identify with - do you have a signature style that you stick with, or do you like to experiment with different styles?

I am a very classic, preppy dresser, but recently I have started to be a bit more bold with my style which is a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is so cute.....love this look! : )

I'm definitely more of a chameleon. I like to change it up quite a bit!
ReplyDeleteJ, have you found that pair of white shorts you're wearing to be "white" enough for you? Like you, I'm naturally quite tan, and I'm having a lot of trouble finding a pair of white shorts where the pockets don't show through!
ReplyDeleteI love anything pink! It looks great with the polka dots anf the white shorts!
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit! Polka dots and pink are two of my favorites!

I'm more of a classic dress and casual with moments of pop and flare. I have a full left sleeve tattoo, so I keep my clothing mellow and classic.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great outfit, I absolutely adore that pink blazer. I think I am still in the process of figuring out my style...it switches up one day from the next, but remains consistent in the fact that its simplistic!

think I'm the same - why choose one!?
ReplyDelete♥ ThankFifi
i guess i tend to be more preppy, but i would agree with you, i like to switch it up! :) LOVE this outfit!
ReplyDeleteI love experimenting with my style! If I like it, I'll wear it! I wish people would stop saying "I just can't pull that off". So not true! If you put it on, and feel awesome in it, rock it.
ReplyDeleteLove it all from head to toe! The outfit is great with or without the blazer.. sometimes I will sweat it out to keep my blazer on if my outfit underneath isn't so great. lol I'm ridiculous....

Very nice ! This is a look i tend to pullout almodt weekly! Lol polka dots and white are a go to gor me!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy style is kind of "bi-polar"!l lol My husband and i pastor a church so when we are in town or at church functions i dress quite conservative and classy with my pops of color and pazaaz being my jewelry and shoes! However, when away i get to break out my "fun" clothes :) we still live an hour away from the church so when I am home I am a lot more BOLD with my style! It's actually kind of fun. It's like I have an altar ego lol.
I think fashion should be fun! Forget the rules and people's opinions! Wear what you want, when you want!
I really enjoy your blog! It's always fun to see what you come up with!
definitely a style chameleon myself but I do tend to not dress in boho, or emo. I'd say sophisticated chic perhaps! LOVE this outfit though; great idea for date night!

I agree! I try to switch it up a bit. I'm not sure my husband likes that. One day I can be preppy and put together. Then the next day I'm wearing boho flower pants from the thrift store.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the polka dots and pink together-one of my favorite combos!!!

Loved this outfit! And it is so simple. I just bought the pink blazer you mentioned from Charlotte Russe. I already have the shorts, shoes and a similar top! Woo Hoo! Can't wait to wear it! :) Thank you! BTW, I'd like to think I'm also a chameleon, but I probably end up wearing kinda the same things that shape my body the way I like. but I'm totally open to ideas, hence my new love: YOUR WEBSITE! I love that you're giving me ideas and that I can still be my bargain-shopper-self. hehe.
ReplyDeletelove your look here. i like to experiment with my looks. but i tend towards more simple and clean look. i just can't gather myself to use lot of accessories. i am more of a "less is more" kinda girl. :-)

Gosh I love these posts so much! How fun to recreate these looks! You do it so well, and are able to inject your own style and interpretation into them! Well done!

Really sophisticated look. I'd wear it myself except for the pink blazer because I don't like wearing the color pink. Suits you well, though. :) I wouldn't say that I have a signature style. When going out I really wanna look polished, but I also have some days where I love to wear my destroyed jeans with a cool top and embrace the rocker in me. I think it depends on my mood that day...
ReplyDeleteI love that you used the word style chameleon!! That's totally me. I tried to come up with a name for my style a few months ago because I couldn't fit into just one category. Style chameleon nails it on the head! We're very similar!
ReplyDeleteYou look great! I feel like I kind of try every style too :)

I love this look! The polka dots and white shorts are so crisp and classic and the hot pink blazer really pulls the outfit together and makes it pop! I rarely wear shorts for more dressed up looks but I love this so much I think I'll have to! And I'm very much a chameleon as well! I generally dress pretty classic with a twist of trendy but I love to change it up- today I'm wearing more of a retro look and this weekend I went more rocker! I think as I've gotten older, I've realized that I can have more fun with my outfit choices!
ReplyDeleteI like to think I'm choosing either boho or sophisticated but I'm probably just boring. I seem to rarely achieve what's in my head. I'll keep working on it.
ReplyDeleteI agree Kristin! It's a great way to describe "I like experimenting with all different kinds of clothes!" :-)
ReplyDeleteCute, I'd love to see a picture Liz! (feel free to post to my FB page) And thank you!!
ReplyDeleteI know, us girls love to suffer for fashion sometimes, don't we, he he! :-) Luckily, it was a chilly night and the blazer was keeping me warm!
ReplyDeleteNikki, they aren't perfect but I love these shorts. Definitely thick enough so that you don't see much if any of the pockets showing through.
ReplyDeletenice outfit!
ReplyDeleteu have A LOT OF clothes, i've noticed. haha. but love all the inspirations that u give! keep going!

Such a cute top! And I am obsessed with huge clutches. Too cute.
ReplyDeleteLove this look! I'm experimenting - don't think I have a signature look.
ReplyDeleteCould you show us or tell us what you would have changed to make it rockeresque or hippish?
Absolutely! I also took a photo of the rocker look I was considering and will be posting it later this week. You can't miss it - it's the one with a black Madonna t-shirt. ;-)
ReplyDeleteSuper cute outfit!! I feel you though with the style chameleon thing...I am ever changing but always keep it classy.

The
article is very good, I like it very much. Here I learned a lot, then I will pay
more attention to you.
I love this look! I never would have thought to put a blazer with shorts, but this is too cute!
ReplyDeleteAs for my style, I can relate to the chameleon thing as I do like to experiment, and also because as a person I'm always changing and that clearly affects my style. I tend to lean more toward preppy or boho (depends on my mood that day which way I will go), and I also love retro/vintage inspired as well.
