I hope you are having a great Friday! I am kicking off the holiday weekend with a fun polka dot outfit. This is my second time wearing this dress, you can see the first one here. I love the idea of dressing it up with a blazer and heels for an occasion like a fancy brunch, or even a graduation party. Where would you wear this look?
And speaking of shoes, I have been meaning to share my tip on how I scored these hot pink beauties. I am a crazy survey nerd. I absolutely love taking them, and about 5 years ago I discovered Harris Polls. You take a couple surveys a week, accumulate points and eventually earn enough for a gift card. It took me 4 years (literally), but I finally earned enough for a $75 gift card to a long list of retailers. It took me another year to figure out what to spend it on, and I got these shoes from Zappos for $48, and have $25 left which will probably take me another year to spend. And I am totally sick of surveys now! :-) Not exactly the most efficient way to earn $75, but could be worth checking out if you love surveys too.

J,
ReplyDeleteI love the combo of the yellow dress with the turquise necklace! The necklace is one of my favourites in your assortment of necklaces. Together with the white blazer this flirty outfit makes me think of a nice nice in a restaurant with a view to the sea.
Have a great weekend! I will use mine to do some preperations for my own fashion blog which will go online in the next two weeks!
Question do you take the pictures yourself? And how do you avoid ugly shadows behind you from the flash?
Love from germany
Sandra
Love this outfit! Another favorite for sure!
ReplyDeleteLove the print! Great deal on the shoes too!

wonderful color combo!
ReplyDeleteSo cute - love the pops of color with the turquoise necklace & pink pumps! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the colors, they work so good together!
ReplyDeleteThe color combinations are so fun! And don't you love how a white blazer can add polish to just about anything?
ReplyDeleteI also love surveys and so far have gotten gift cards to Express from the ones I do. I'm going to check out the one you mentioned, though, because it sounds like they have more store options!
I really love the polkadot dress with the blazer! It ties the whole thing together so well, and LOVE the shoes. Would you possibly do a post on tips for buying online? You are probably better at returning things than I am... ;)
ReplyDeleteLove this dress so much and I can't believe that tank top is from Old Navy!!!!!! I need to get it! :)
ReplyDeletesuch a cute outfit -- yellow looks great like you!

What a cute dress! It looks great with the turquoise necklace... I would wear that whole thing from top to bottom. And you are the reason I'm searching for pink shoes. I'm having such a hard time finding an affordable pair in size huge-mungous (11 lol) and that are under 3 inches tall.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend J :)

Thanks Sandra! Yes, I use a tripd and self-timer and take all of my photos myself. I never use flash though, everything is with natural light! I'm standing in front of floor-length windows.
ReplyDeleteThanks Meg! You know, I hardly ever buy anything online. I spend a fair amount of time browsing, because I think it saves time once you are in the store (you already know what you want to look at). But it can be tough to gauge material, fit or even color so I prefer to shop in person. I do love online boutiques and MJR Sales, but for everything else I just go to the mall!
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit SO much! That dress is amazing, and only $20? Wow!

ReplyDeleteha, that is so funny because I never actually knew anyone who did that until I moved in with my roommate. She would do surveys all the time to make extra cash! Pretty smart actually.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm loving your take on this look! The yellow and blue necklace look great together!
Love these color combos! I also took your advice and found a similar J Crew type necklace on eBay for $14! Thanks for the tip!

Such
ReplyDeletebeautiful pictures. Love what you’re wearing, especially the dress.
The dress is really cute and I like how you combined it with the white blazer which is so on trend right now. I'm not so loving the shoes, though. But that's just my opinion since I'm not a big fan of pink... Other than that: great outfit. I'd probably wear it for cocktails with friends...
ReplyDeleteI love yellow, turquoise, and pink together!
ReplyDeletei bought an off-white blazer from NY&Co three years ago for cheap. didn't wear it all the first year i had it, then last year wore it non-stop. i will continue to do so this year, and esp love it paired with shorts, rompers, and dresses. great look!
ReplyDeleteYou should check out www.swagbucks.com...you can earn points through surveys and just using their search engine...you can get gift cards to amazon, zappos, dsw, gap, paypal even! I started using it in September and since then I've gotten about $300 extra in giftcards...including a $25 to zappos, $25 to dsw, $35 to gap and $15 to paypal just this year alone! Definitely makes those expensive piperlime items much more affordable :)
ReplyDeleteOh, and also Barnes and Noble...just recently got a Nook and was able to use giftcards from Swagbucks to get the second two of The Hunger Games for free!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is perfection! I do surveys as well through swagbucks and upromise.
ReplyDeleteThis could be my favorite outfit of yours! I love how nothing "matches" but everything "goes" - looking lovely as always!

Beautiful! Love the whole
outfit. The dress is perfection. Love your blog.
I like those shoes. I often want bright shoes. I actually think I was deciding between them and another pair for pink shoes but I ended up getting the other style that had a strap across the ankles.
ReplyDeletehttp://scrapandrun.blogspot.com/2012/04/323-bad-luck.html shows them. Sometimes I think straps give me more variety since none of my other shoes have them but with a skirt I think your style looks better :( Oh well. Next time. I do want some mustard or teal or green pumps.
Hi J! Love this look, as always! I have the polka dot top (not dress), necklace, white blazer...even pink pumps....what other choice would you recommend for "bottoms"? Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think I would keep things simple and stick to blue jeans. Or you could not do a white blazer and do white shorts instead!
ReplyDeleteJ, Did you order your hot pink shoes in your normal shoe size? I ordered the same shoe in Coral in my normal shoe size and they are too small! I was just wondering if this was just me, or if everyone had that issue with this particular shoe.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
So weird Stephanie, I thought they were very true to size! I'm a 9.5, but most brands don't make it so I wind up with a size 10. And just like always, the 10 is a tad big on me. Do they have free shipping? Can you get a half size bigger?
ReplyDeletewell, I had ordered a size 10 (my normal) and I can hardly fit my foot into it. I tried to exchange for an 11, but the price was double (this was on Amazon.com) so I am going to return the ones to Amazon and I found them on Piperlime for the same price (actually a little less with at 15% off coupon code) in a size 11. I'm praying they fit!!! I just love the style and color!!!
ReplyDeletei'm such a survey nerd too! i use this site: http://tinyurl.com/cs5u7b9 it's pretty quick to earn $25 (the amount you need to get paid) AND it offers incentives for online shopping too!
