This color combo reminds me of blueberries and raspberries (yum). Re-creating her look was a no-brainer with pieces already in my closet that are almost an exact match color-wise. The shoes added the perfect hint of orange to tie in the belt, and voila - a stylish work look (shoes may not be appropriate for all dress codes). You can see three other ways I wore the shirt here and here and here. How would you make this look your own?

J,
ReplyDeletereally cute! :-)
I was wondering, where do shop your pencil skirts? Because they seem to fit perfect all the time! I sometime have the problem, that even though I love my silhoutte in pencil skirt, since my waist is tiny and my figure is pretty much "latina" that they never really fit unless I have them custom made! They tend to slip upwards, which is really annoying! grrrr...

Love it - these jewel toned colors look good on literally everyone! :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE this look! i'd totally rock cobalt SHORTS with a purple top! :) maybe even throw in an orange necklace - that's how i'd make it my own :)
ReplyDeleteOooooh! I like those colors together!

Such a fabulous shirt! Love the color combo! I really like how you styled all 4 outifts, especially the one paired with the light blue skirt.
ReplyDeleteI would probably pair it with a printed skirt. The color is so vibrant that I think it would look great with a skirt that has that same shade in the print. Then, pair it with neutral shoes, similar to your look.
I bet it would also look great with your vintage psychedelic print pants!
So lovely as always, J!

ReplyDeleteLOVE the combination - it's already pinning all over pinterest!!

J.Crew re-creates are my favorites, because I love to see a bazillion dollar outfit done for a fraction of the price! I think I'd do something really similar to your outfit, and would maybe include a button up if I could find one.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful outfit, the colour combo is great! ♥
ReplyDeleteI love the purple paired with cobalt blue because the colors are so close together in the color family! The touch of orange is nice because it is a skinny belt and delicate. Wearing orange shoes would be too bold and loud, so the belt is a perfect choice! Love it!

the jewel tones in this outfit are so pretty -- and you're right, it totally reminds me of blueberries and raspberries! : )

I love this look! I just bought that cobalt shirt from Gap the other day and have been trying to figure out how to style it since I rarely wear any blues.
ReplyDeleteI like this look a lot. The shoes are just perfect with it because they're so cool, young and fresh. Regular pumps would have just been boring, I think. Anyway, if I wore this look, I'd probably switch the skirt to a pair of shorts or pants in this great color. I'm just not a big fan of pencil skirts since I'm not that tall.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this color combo. And especially love those shoes! :)

Love the cobalt blue and rich purple together! Cobalt blue and coral and my favorite clothing colors right now! AMAZING shoes... so in love!
ReplyDeleteloving your shoes!
ReplyDeleteI love this look! I can't wait to try it out for myself. I would probably add yellow or pale coral since I can't stand (and don't own) any orange. :)
ReplyDeletei love that you have toned down colors just a little bit & are mixing in more neutrals. the hint of orange on the shoe is perfect (so much better than if it were all orange) and this color combo is fun but still totally realistic. that shirt is also so flattering. awesome outfit!
ReplyDeletelove the colour mix but think I would prefer it or myself in fall

Ooo I love these colors-- you had me with raspberries! I am totally lovin' that since it goes great with my red hair/fair skin. Both colors look great together. This is another one I intend to copy someday! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the colors! Those shoes are amazing.

Thanks Sandra! My favorite stores for pencil skirts are Limited, Banana and LOFT. I have a hard time with a lot of other skirt shapes, but pencil skirts are usually pretty easy for my body type right off the rack, which is why I wind up buying them so often! I think they could work for your body type, you just may have to get them altered, which is an added hassle, but the end result is often great!
ReplyDeletelove the look! was just adding the cobalt shirt from limited to my wish list, they also have it in purple, would like to get too :)
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit. In a lot of your outfits you put a skinny belt on a pencil skirt, but it looks like the skirts don't have belt loops. How do you get the belt to stay put?
ReplyDeleteLove love love that color combination! Great outfit, as usual!
ReplyDeleteI wore this same color combo yesterday! Long, ikat skirt with a raspberry T. It needed something, though. Maybe a belt. Love what you did here!
ReplyDeleteThank you Rose! I show you how I get my belts to stay in place in this video: http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2010/11/video-how-to-belt-cardigan_12.html
ReplyDeleteSo
ReplyDeletesimple, but so amazing! I love every piece you are wearing.
Gizelle, it really depends on the belt and the material of your skirt (silky clothes tend to slip more often). There will always be a little bit of shifting, but using the same trick I show in the video, you should be able to get it tight enough (but not too tight) to stay in place all day. Give it a try and let me know how it goes!!
ReplyDeleteI like how you combined it, adding a taste of your style to creat your own unique style, that's fashion for me.
