Navy blazer + stripes + pink + leopard = cute outfit. Today's look is an "outfit recipe" that is pretty easy to re-create if you ask me! If you have these elements in your closet (in any combination), I definitely encourage you to give it a try. I love how J.Crew put a spin on some preppy classics to come up with this winning combo. Are you a fan of this outfit recipe/ have you tried it before?

I can't tell from the picture....but is your shirt black/white or navy/white striped? Despite my cavalier attitude about mixing navy and black, I still can't bring myself to pair a black/white striped shirt with a navy blazer. What's your take?
ReplyDeleteI love the navy and hot pink combination...I used those colors for my wedding and I also love to wear them!

I LOVE the inspiration picture - I have it pinned on Pinterest too! Love your take on it too, well done!
ReplyDeletesuper cute shoes!
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and I wanted to say, you were such an inspiration to me while I was out shopping this weekend! Thanks for all the great ideas. You have reminded me that yet again, I really need to add more skirts to my wardrobe, but I have a hard time finding ones that flatter my figure. You seriously have killer legs though, maybe that's why you look so amazing in them :D It's pants for me until spring I suppose, but I'm really inspired to layer and mix and match now.

I love this color combo - one of my favorite go-tos!

By far one of my favorites!!!! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI love this look; preppy with an edge. It's easily one of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteHeather, this is so sweet, thank you! I'm glad you like the blog and thanks for stopping by! :-)
ReplyDeleteMy blazer is navy and my shirt is a blue stripe - almost a tad more royal blue than navy even! agree with you though. I love mixing navy and black, but I'm not sure I would have done that here.
ReplyDeleteOne place I did do it - this look is a navy blazer, navy shirt, and black scarf. I swear it somehow tricked the eye in person and made the scarf look navy, too! http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2011/10/todays-everyday-fashion-my-dream-job.html
Love!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! I am going to DIY a similar skirt!
ReplyDeleteI would never think to put those shoes with that outfit, but it looks adorable. I think the darker leopard and the darker pink are what make it work. I'd like to see a longer necklace.
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!!!! Wish I had the items to re-create this outfit!!!!
ReplyDeleteI was so close to buying this skirt a couple weeks ago! except it was in the blue/purple and I chickened out :( If it had been pink, I may have actually gone for it!
ReplyDeleteAh! I was in Banana yesterday, saw this skirt and was totally scared. Now I want to go back and buy it. I could totally pull off something like this for work!
ReplyDeleteThank you mam!
LOVE that Banana Skirt!!!!!

YES! I've done navy + stripes + coral and loved it, but I was missing leopard. Great look, J!

What a great look. I have all the elements - pink skirt, striped tee, navy blazer, and leopard pumps. I'm wearing the look tomorrow. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteBig fan of this look. I don't have a pink skirt, but my turquoise one would work well. For those of us who live in a colder climate, would you do black tights with this look?
ReplyDeleteI agree - turquoise skirt would look great with this. If you have navy tights I think those would work well? My blazer and shirt are both blue and navy would be a tad less harsh than black.
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit! But I think the bag brings it just a little over board. Other than that, very cute and fun!
ReplyDeleteLove this look!

Loving your outfit! The color of your skirt is great!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my go-to looks when I'm not creative enough to put something together for the day :) Another is teal skinnies with a leapord blouse and tan heels. I love bright colors, and love your incorporation of the leapord with accessories. Thanks for your daily inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThat is a really hot skirt! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'll ever be lucky enough to find that at my local store.
Such a vibrant color.
Really love this outfit!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure how I feel about leopard shoes and a leopard bag, but you definitely pull it off!
ReplyDeletestripes and a bold color is always the way to go. LOVE this!

Your "outfit recipe" is almost like a mathematical formula, too, J. ............ except with *f.a.s.h.i.o.n.* elements............ instead of *n.u.m.e.r.i.c.a.l.* elements!!
ReplyDeleteI never really thought that a simple pencil skirt in a BOLD color----(e.g., like your gorgeous fuchsia-pink skirt, Above!!)----could ever be considered a Wardrobe BASIC, like, say, a navy blazer is a standard Wardrobe Basic; but because there are so many clothing colors AND skin tones that really look great............ (with this *p.a.r.t.i.c.u.l.a.r.* shade of pink!!)............ I could see how a fuchsia pencil skirt might just become-part-of an individual's INITIAL............ "Wardrobe Basics" collection!! 'Just a really *smashing* outfit, J.!!
Love! Especially the skirt!
ReplyDeleteLuv this outfit!!! You look mah vah lous!!
ReplyDeleteAs you, J, would say "I die!" :) I LOVELOVELOVE this skirt!!! I want one just like that! Looks great with navy! And leopard is a nice touch to make it more fun :)
ReplyDeleteI have wore this "recipe" before. My outfit was with a skirt, leopard print shoes, stripped top and the blazer. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI love this look! The color of the skirt is just divine...want want want!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great recipe. I've found that i love stripes more and more everyday

As soon as I saw this skirt at BR, I KNEW you would end up buying it and making it look cute! I wanted the colbalt blue one, but couldn't get past the fit of it... it was riding up with every step I took.
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny, you are the third person to say that! Sorry to hear the fit didn't work for you, hate it when that happens!
ReplyDeleteGoing through all your posts and I came across this one. Love the color scheme and actually have a version of all the pieces(a navy sweater replaces the blazer and my animal print shoes are flats). I'm totally wearing it to work on Tuesday so thanks for the inspiration. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome Andi, thanks for reading! :-)
