Today's Everyday Fashion: City Camping
Nicky Hilton is what I call "city camping." She is one s'more away from a campfire, but her heels and bare legs are really more suitable for the city. ;-) I gave city camping a try, and came up with this outfit fit for you cold weather folks (as I would unfortunately suffocate in a look like this in Florida right now). I personally think it's a cute nod to the plaid and mixing prints trends, but tell me - do these outfits work in real life?

I wouldn't wear hers because I couldn't pull off shorts that short, but I totally like this look on you! I love the plaid and stripes combo, really cute!
ReplyDeleteHi J! I love the plaid and striped look on you! Looks great! I have been working on my post all morning on mixing prints because it is so much fun to experiment with! I love how your boots are so similar to Nicky Hilton's! xx

I'm not really a fan. It just doesn't look "right." Although I do admire your willingness to try new things and help us with different ideas!
ReplyDeleteThe look on you is cuter to me than hers. I have been seeing a lot of gingham and plaid being mixed with different patterns/colors so the look is great! My kids call me fancy lumberjack when I wear mine as I like to layer it with other button downs.
ReplyDeleteLove the plaid mixed with stripes! Daring, but not too "out there!"
ReplyDeleteThank you for tailoring your looks for those of us still shivering up North! It is very appreciated(-:
ReplyDeleteI try to do as many as I can for you guys! :-)
ReplyDeleteEh! I don't know if I like it but yours is definitely cuter than hers. I just don't do plaid. Maybe I should give it a try (c:
ReplyDeleteI could pull yours off on the weekend. Boy is it cold up here now.
ReplyDeleteIt's super cute on you for sure. I just tend to stick with classics and not make dressing be such "an event." Mixing plaid and stripes seems trendy to me. Again I just like more timeless things and not overdoing it with accessories. But you look adorable in everything.
ReplyDeleteI like the top of the outfit, not a big fan of the bottom...but I like the mixing of patterns :)
ReplyDeletethis is by far one of my favs so far - i love the whole totally impractical urban pseudo ruggedness thing :)))))
ReplyDeleteLove this idea. I wouldn't have thought to pair a plaid with stripes. Cute!
ReplyDeleteThey definitely don't work for Florida weather but I like your interpretation on the look!

Would have never thought to combine plaid and stripes, I might try this one this coming weekend on my ski trip
ReplyDeleteYes, def appreciate the cold weather outfits!
ReplyDeleteI definitely dig the mixture of stripes with plaid! It totally works!
ReplyDeleteOk I have to finally ask a huge favor!!!! I see you wear these jeans all the time and are a definite staple in your wardrobe. That being said I love the distressed look and the bonus that the holes are not actually holes! I have tried to find these and cannot. Would you be so kind as to tell us the name/style of the jean and any specific idenifying numbers that might be on the tag? You ROCK...love your blog . thx
ReplyDeleteHi, sorry it took me so long to respond - I was in Austin when I got this! I too love these jeans b/c the holes are not actually holes! :-) I have a feeling these exact jeans are going to be hard to find, I got them at American Eagle more than a year ago. I would check there for a similar style though, and the # from the tag is 5900219886.
ReplyDeleteHere you are, relatively uninjured but with no camping or survival equipment.motor home
