This is one of my all-time favorite inspiration photos. I love the boho, laid back vibe, and this beaded necklace from Sarah Aghili felt like just the thing I needed to capture a similar feeling in my own outfits. I wore the second look with the white top recently, and I plan to wear the denim-on-denim as soon as it warms up. Which outfit(s) would you wear?

Love the distressed white shorts, I'm on a hunt for pair.

I love the darker chambray!
ReplyDeleteAlthough boho chic is not my style, I do prefer the second look over the first because the white of the peasant top showcases that gorg necklace so much more. Then again, chambray shirts for the win! :)

You look great J!! I love the second look you created; the casual looks you put together are always so nice and easy looking :)

Great Boho/Tribal vibe! I love both outfits, but especially the second outfit (you know, since it's still 30*F where I'm at...). Both are really cute though! Love the jewelry you've put with them. It really brought the look together! On the last jewelry picture, I love the cross bracelet and the arrow bracelet. :)

Love seeing what you wear on the weekend. Gives me great ideas.
ReplyDeleteHave to comment on your colorful belt. I have been on the hunt for something similar since first seeing it in your Why You Should Buy Multiples post (red and purple outfit).
Ok, its only been a month because I'm new here. Anyway... I hit up Etsy, but never placed the order. I've always followed the "if in doubt, then don't" when it comes to shopping and while I love it on you, I just wasn't sure I could pull it off. Then, yesterday at Target, I was looking through their belts and found one I love! It's a braided belt and one of the strands is colorful like your belt while the other two were a brown leather. It was perfect! Similar yet different, if that makes sense. I turned it over to double check the size and saw that it was made in Guatemala. Meant to be. :)
Such cool outfits! They look like the perfect laid back thing to wear on a nice day to a festival. I've always admired that effortless boho look, but I haven't ever pulled it off. Both are perfection, but I would go with the first one. That necklace completes it!

This outfit reminds me of something to wear to an outdoor concert in the summer time, I like the belt and tribal print collar necklace.

Wow those sandals are ammmmmmazing!!! I can never find anything on MJR - I think the way they display the clothes is very off putting - just my opinion ;)
ReplyDeleteLove your blog - it's a daily read for sure!!
I love the second look with the white top. It feels so effortless and easy! The great necklaces really get the spotlight.

Once again your look is cooler than the inspiration - you rock. I like this look - it's very festival-chic.

I love the first look! A great update for some older pieces I have lying around, like a beaded necklace and Guatemalan belt.
ReplyDeleteI actually went on a Chambray shirt mission today. Got a cute one at bp in Nordstrom but am taking it back because J Crew has adorable ones! The Madewell one is really boxy on my frame and looks too masculine. Go check out J Crew with a coupon!
ReplyDeleteyou look fantastic in that necklace. this is one of my favorite outfits from you. wish i was in the right weather to wear white shorts right now as well... or any shorts!
ReplyDeletekw, ladies in navy
I love the boots you have in the second look! I have been on the hunt for a cute pair of booties that are not high heels. Are the Charlotte Boots comfortable? I need a pair I can really walk in and I've heard mix reviews about the comfort of their shoes.
ReplyDeleteI love both your blue-on-blue//denim-on-denim look; and also your *bright white*-and-indigo-blue look, too!! Maybe nothing says "Spring" quite like Blue-And-White Combos!! Full & flowy and loose & breezy white tops............ (e.g., like your gorgeous Moda top, J., with it's shadow-striped upper bodice, and lace-edged sleeves and hem!!)............ often remind me of *fluffy, white clouds* in Spring!!
ReplyDeleteYour Aztec (?) -beaded necklace from Sarah Aghili is one of those pieces that'll probably be in style *forever*............ (i.e., at least on-and-off, like Aztec sweaters)!! 'So many ways, as you know, to style a strong, clean-lined *geometric* piece of statement jewelry like that, too!! For a real "Safari Girl" vibe, I'd love to maybe see your pretty H&M wooden "horn" necklace, (i.e., as in your post of July 24, 2010):

............ as the first layering necklace - (maybe looped-to-shorten?) - with your beaded necklace!!
Gillian, they are SO comfy. My boots are Dollhouse brand from a boutique, but I think they are the exact same boots. Definitely need to wear socks with them, but I can walk for miles in them.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rosanna, I love that suggestion!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I love hearing shopping success stories!
ReplyDeleteYou pull off the boho-chic style so effortlessly. You obviously look amazing in all. I could never pull off this look the way you do. But if I had to try is out, I would be gravitated to your last ensemble.
