Inspiration: WhoWhatWear |
Thanks to today's inspiration photo and others I've seen in magazines lately, I'm loving the black and white graphic trend. It inspired me to pair my striped top with a black and white colorblocked skirt, which I would love more if the skirt wasn't slightly more white than the ivory top. ;-) I also had the random thought to pair the same top with my plaid jeans - a result I think you'll agree is very Gwen Stefani. And lastly... I decided to show every way I've worn this jailbird shirt so far. Outfit #2 is my favorite, which might have a little something to do with my love for mixing black and brown together. Which outfit is your favorite?

I didn't even notice the white/ivory color difference until you pointed it out! But outfit number 2 is still my favorite.

I'm loving all black & white graphic looks right now, so the first one is my favorite, but I also like the 2nd way you dressed it down for the weekend - great ideas here!

Love the stripes paired with the plaid the most, great look.

I really like your first look. The black and white graphic look is such a fun trend to play with.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kimberly, The first and second looks are my favorites. I can't pick one because they're both so different. I love doing that with clothing, you can take one piece and by changing the rest of the outfit it looks totally different!

I love the look with the plaid jeans! Totally up my street!
ReplyDeletei like the first, second, and fourth looks. i don't think the plaid pants and stripes are something i can get behind just yet!
ReplyDeletekw, ladies in navy
1 and 2 are my favorites. I actually have the skirt from outfit 1 and just bought a similar striped shirt that I have yet to wear. Now I think I know what my first outfit with said shirt will be!
ReplyDeleteStripes are my favorite!

I love black and white also so I am super excited about the spring trend.. but really, when isn't black and white on trend? They're classic. I love those red plaid jeans! I really wish I could look like you do in them! I have loved every look you have shown with those- so that look is probably my favorite but I also like 2 & 4. The first one is just a little thrown off because the whites aren't completely the same, like you said.

I like 1, 2 & 3 the best. The purse in 1 & 2 never get old no matter what outfit you put them with. I think I don't like 4 because the bag is so big and distracting. LOVE the shirt from Forever 21 you picked. Sadly they only sell up to a large. I can wear a large in most brands. Just not sure about with them. I wish more stores and boutiques would sell XL. I think they are losing a lot of business by doing so. Just because someone is bigger, doesn't mean that they don't have style!
ReplyDeleteI like looks 2 and 4 the best. I'm a sucker for turquoise. That said, I loooooooooooove the shoes you are wearing in looks 1 and 3. Those shoes are wicked fun.
ReplyDeleteI hear black and white is the new thing for spring. which is great becasue most of my cloest is black and white! YAY! You look great and I Love that skirt.

I am obsessed with the first outfit! The black and white and horizontal and vertical stripes and ugh, just love. In terms of the second outfit, I love plaid but those pants aren't my personal fave.

My favorites are 2 and 4. #1 would definitely be my top pick if the top was white instead of ivory and it was worn without the jacket. So excited for this years black/white stripe trend!

For my favorite outfit, it's a toss-up between #2 and #4. I like mixing black and brown together, too, but I also like adding a splash of color like you did with the turquoise shoes and accessories. All look great, though!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree Jennifer!
ReplyDeletei like the second outfit with the jeans!
ReplyDeleteloving stripes right now :)

Love the skirt combo and the denim combo!
ReplyDeleteThese are by far my favorite jailbird looks I have seen floating around. Even though you say "jailbird" (for obvious reasons, of course), it just looks really stylish to me. Good job!

ReplyDeleteToday's outfit is my favorite, I like the tuxedo skirt- a twist on the tuxedo pants which I love and will be really popular this year.

I love this outfit! Definitely can't tell the top and skirt are different shades of white.
ReplyDeleteI like outfit #4 the best. =) The back and white theme is huge for spring & I can't wait to try it.

I really love #1 because the skirt is a great piece! But I'm also a fan of wearing stripes anywhere, anytime. Really cute!
ReplyDeleteFor different reasons, I love *all* of these pretty outfits!! I think your outfit with your plaid jeans would also look very nice for a (Mid-Conservative) Work Environment, too............ i.e., with a black blazer; a simple, chunky gold necklace; and just straight-leg plaid pants!!
ReplyDeleteI love black-and-white with neutrals, (i.e., as in your first two outfits in the line-up)............ but black-and-white with a *single* bold COLOR, (i.e., as in your last two outfits in the line-up, with your deep-red plaid jeans; then with your bright-turquoise accessories)............ well, black-and-white really does *w.o.n.d.e.r.f.u.l.* things for bold COLORS!! I can almost visualize............ (but not quite, haha!!)............ how gorgeous your black-and-white, wide-stripe top also might look, J., with a single "monochromatic" color scheme of some sort, too, e.g., say, maybe (?) with different *shades of green*!!
Lovely collections!!! Great blog.
ReplyDeleteLove all the outfits but if I had to pick one I would choose the first one. Wow...these are just amazing ensembles.
