Is there really anything better than a fresh new pair of jeans? I love wearing new jeans with a white shirt the first time out of the gate. So a white blouse is exactly what I did on Sunday - plus an ivory necklace, boucle jacket and pointy pumps to match (see another outfit with this jacket and necklace combo here). I've been searching for dark blue skinnies for over a year. I've been stalking discount stores for a designer pair but couldn't find ones I liked. I walked past these at H&M last week (I usually really dislike their jeans on me) and felt compelled to try them on because the color and distressing was perfect. One 20% off coupon later and I'm a happy customer with my $32 jeans. What is your favorite pair of blue jeans? Favorite store for jeans?

ReplyDeleteI totally just did a white shirt, blue jeans combo yesterday. If I have a new white shirt I like to test it out with an all-American look first too. :) I really love the Levi's (The exact kind are 524 super-low or low) they sell at Kohl's in the Junior's section. If you rather petite like I am, they fit like a charm, especially because you can get them in "short".

Short lengths are key for me, too, since the longest inseam I can wear without shredding the bottoms on the ground is 30 inches. My favorites are American Eagle for boot cuts and Ann Taylor for skinnies.

Nordstrom Rack forever. I pretty much have to wear designer jeans (woe is me) because I need a long inseam and I have no butt.. so I can't just throw on anything. I've scored two pairs of perfect Paige dark skinnies from Nordstrom Rack as well as a pair of True Religion. The Paige jeans were $80 each and the True Religions were $100. All were well worth it. I don't think I'll ever pay full price for designer, especially when Rack carries Paige, True Religion, Sevens, Hudson, Joe's Jeans.. and then there's sites like Ruelala.
ReplyDeleteHa, is it weird that I've been coming to your blog long enough that I'm starting to notice when you have new clothes on? I saw those pants and right away was like "Hm.. I don't think I've seen those before!". They're gorgeous though, and fit you so well! My favorite pair of jeans are just like them, skinny jeans with a few little "distressed" parts and lots of whiskering. It's just so flattering and makes the outfit so much more interesting when the jeans have some good detail to them as well!

Nordstrom Rack is a favorite of mine too Emily!! That's one of the stores I've been stalking for the last year and haven't been able to find the right pair. Still in shock how much I love these from H&M! They look designer for now; we'll see how much they hold their color over time. :-)

My favorite jeans are Loft Straight jeans. They fit all day just right. Their boot cut leaves something to be desired. I like Lucky Jeans boot cut Sofia fit. :) I love your jean and white combo. Looks really good.
ReplyDeleteI used to work at Delia's and I fell in love with their jeans!! They last so long and barely shrink or fade! And they fit me perfectly, too! I am pretty tall and have a tiny waist with huge hips/butt, so that is a big deal to me, lol. Since I started getting jeans there I don't buy them anywhere else.

Cute! I love denim with white too. It's so fresh. I buy my skinny jeans at Target. They have really cute ones that fit me perfectly and flatter my lower half, plus they're cheap. But my favorite place to buy jeans is Banana Republic. If you get in there during their sales you can find amazingly inexpensive top quality jeans that will last forever, look amazing, and feel great. BR jeans rock!

Favorite pair currently is Joe Fresh - for $7 ha! I was thrilled. But favorite store is tough - I don't really have one. I just shop around until I find a pair that fits me well. It can be either from Target, TJ Maxx, Joe Fresh or where ever! I hear that J Brand and Hudson have great jeans but was never willing to fork out the cash...

ReplyDeleteMy secret to keeping my jeans dark: I never wash them. Hahha. That might sound gross but I once read an article about it a while ago and how it isn't that big of a deal and that our jeans don't harbor bajillions of nasty bacteria... but really it's just validating my actions. When I do wash them, I need to take it seriously as in following the directions, washing inside out and by themselves, I've even seen that you should use vinegar. I learned the hard way: I let my boyfriend wash my FAVORITE black skinnies (like holy grail skinnies, they couldn't fit more perfectly) and they became noticeably less dark. I decided to buy a second pair and vow to never wash them without being extremely careful.

ReplyDeleteIf you don't mind my asking can you tell me what size these are compared to say the skinny jeans you bought at the limited or other stores? I'm curious about H&M because my brother bought me a pair of jeans for Christmas but they are still too small (I gained 17 lbs recently). (If you don't want to say the sizes you can just say how many sizes bigger or smaller.)
ReplyDeleteH&M is European sizing, so I'm usually 1-3 sizes larger at that store than compared to stores like Limited. These particular jeans I believe are misses and not juniors, and my usual size fit, but I wanted them looser so I went one size up. Hope this helps! :-)
