Ladies, the hunt for mint skinnies has officially ended! I first tried these mint Gap Skimmers on in December (featured them on the blog here) and loved them, so when Gap got in touch and asked me to style them five different ways, I said "yes please!" (I got to choose which color I wanted.)

For this post I tried to think of all the versatile ways you could wear these jeans - with everything from sneakers for a day at the park, to ankle boots for a festival, to lace for a night out. There really are endless possibilities, and the Gap Skimmers come in tons of other colors including floral, polka dots, vibrant colors, and regular blue denim, and prices start at $69.95. Which outfit in today's post is most your style? How would you wear these jeans?

  4. I'd say the army jacket and the blazer are most like my style. Casual but edgy on the one and less casual but preppy in the other. I'm thinking sandals would be a lot of fun to wear with them along with a loose-fit shirt.

  8. While $70 is a bit much for mint jeans for me, I think the regular denim is something to check out....even if it is like 1/2 of my monthly budget.

I like the second outfit the best - the tennies really complete the look.

  10. Hi J - I love the mint skinnies!  When I look at the Gap website they appear to be capris but on you they look regular length.  They appear to be on sale and with another 30% off online they are a great bargain.  Before I order I just wanted to make sure the ones you have are the same ones on the site that appear to be capri length.  I love all of the outfits you posted and you have helped me to see all the great ways to wear mint!  Thanks!!!!

  11. I would never think of pairing with sneakers, but I love it. I like the last two outfits as well.

  12. I like the first and last looks the best.  I like that they are more office-appropraite.  The pink in the last look is super fun!

  13. So funny... right before I saw this post I was browsing Pinterest and came across this link about Gap & Old Navy jeans.  It doesn't seem to be the case for you though, since you look fabulous!  Still, what are your thoughts?  As someone who is naturally very thin (size 00), I've always gone for higher end denim to avoid stretching out.

  14. I love every single ensemble you put together here, and the mint jeans.  It is so workable for everyday dressup while looking chic. My favourite pairing are looks 1 and 5.

  16. You can always buy these jeans in the tall lenghth too (if you didn't already)! As long as you are at least a size 4, I believe.

  17. Outfit #5 is my favorite. I'm all about mixing colors and very bright outfits, so that one matches my style! I recently purchased a couple pairs of the Gap skimmers, I love them! I'm kind of tall (5'10") and my legs make up most of my body, so the jeans are sort of an awkward length (they don't quite reach the ankle), but I'm confident that I can rock them with sandals or heels and no one will notice!

  19. I literally said to myself about 10 minutes ago that I wanted to see someone show different ways to style mint jeans, then I checked your blog like I usually do and found this. Thank you!

  20. I totally agree. I have bought many jeans from Old Navy and Gap and they always fit me fine. I am pretty thin (00) and petite and I have never had a problem. I've seen that post before and it honestly appears the jeans she used were the wrong size for her. But jeans are just one of those things that you have to find the right fit for you. I also think skinny jeans seems to be the same no matter what brand you get. Just my opinion. Great article.

  21. Kris, I've seen that link too! Gap has been my favorite for years now - it looks like my body type is a lot different than the woman pictured though, so that could have a lot to do with it. And I agree that some washes should be avoided at all costs (many look dated), but I think that is the case at pretty much any store/brand selling denim!

  22. Hey J! I wanted to say thanks for showing an outfit that incorporates "comfier," more functional shoes, but is still stylish and classy and doesn't look like you're slumming it. In my fast-paced, stair-heavy retail job, I'm continually looking for ways to have a complete outfit down to my shoes, but doesn't leave me sore and sorry at the end of the day!

  23. Great question Kelly - yes, they are the same ones I link to! I'm guessing that the model is 5'10" and I'm 5'7" so they are 3 inches shorter on her. :-)

  25. Hi J! Thanks for the post. I am just curious how given items work into your monthly budget, since normal girls don't get perks like that. I realize you are working for them but I was just wondering if this is taken into account. I'm not trying to be rude or anything I am just wondering because following a clothes budget is really important to me.

  26. I agree the quality or lack thereof of the photos is very distracting.

  27. The first outfit is definitely my favorite--I love the classic-looking lines with the pop of color in the jeans for interest. I also like the one with the lace top, but I would choose different shoes (probably flats--I just can't get myself to wear heels if I don't have to!).

  28. It's the same photography and background as always, I just used different editing techniques for this post! In the sneakers pic one heel is off the ground, but the other foot is planted flat. Thanks for your feedback - I also like the white background but have been having fun experimenting lately! :-)

  29.  I love when you go outside to take pictures!! I feel like the outfits generally really pop (like Jan. 28 outfit for church and friend's shower-- you look stunning there)! However, I'm not the greatest fan of the retro-effect (as seen on Monday). I didn't say anything because I've never noticed the background until today. My favorite background is the one seen on Thursday (Feb. 14) with the bit of darkness behind you-- your outfit pops, you look amazing, and there's no blinding effect :-)

  31. Hi! I've been thinking about buying the brown booties by Dollhouse from Alloy for awhile, how are you liking them? Are they comfortable? Thanks! :)

  32. I love them Vicky! Impossible to wear without socks (the faux material is unpleasant), but very comfy otherwise.

  33. Love look #5! Love the pops of color and print topped off with those Chinese Laundry pumps makes for the perfect outfit!
