Oh J.Crew, your quirky combinations never cease to delight. I love the idea to wear a camel polka dot sweater with pink jeans. I'm also obsessed with her shoes and wish I was wearing them! (Love the similar pair here, kitten heels here, or flats here.) I added a jacket for all you cold-weather folks, and went with black leather because I like the idea of "toughening up" retro polka dots. (I've also had lots of requests for a picture of this jacket so hopefully this helps!) Are you loving polka dots this fall?

I am loving this whole look! I am still kicking myself for not buying that sweater at Old Navy. Thanks for sharing some other polka dot looks from other stores. May need to head over and get one. Heather
ReplyDeleteLove this look with your jacket! Feminine and edgy!

Love this and I am going out to buy that sweater right now
ReplyDeleteLove, Love, love that fit!!!! I saw that Sweater at Old Navy, and I thought it was too pre-schooly, but, as usual, you have proved me wrong! Love it! :-) Where can find some really cute black suede shoes??
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute combo. I LOVE this look and I have the sweater already. Score.

I love this look and pairing it with your leather jackets makes it look even more trendy :)

This is a great outfit! You go girl :)
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I was unsure about the outfit at first, but I think the leather jacket really brings it all together. It adds just enough edgy-ness. Like other posters, I also overlooked this sweater at Old Navy, but now I might go back and see if they still have it. The Forever 21 sweater looks super cute and comfy, too.
ReplyDeletethat sweater is ADORABLE! how's the quality? this is one of my favorite outfits you've done lately--super cute.
ReplyDeleteLoving the sweater from forever at the bottom but can't find it on their site :( anyone having better luck?!
ReplyDeleteI did a JCrew inspired outfit on my blog today also! Love them for inspiration! Love your take on it!

I love the look! What size did you order the jacket in? Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE camel and black for polka dots! And that leather jacket is amazing.

Those shoes are great...comfortable at all? Or am I asking for too much?!? :)
ReplyDeleteCould your jeans be anymore amazing???
ReplyDeleteI just bought that leather jacket! It is on a great sale and there are coupon codes for free shipping (FALLSHIP) and varying amounts off (FALL12). I really hope I love it! I think it will be emotionally difficult to return it:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for keeping us Midwesterners in mind! Keep it up over the next few months. Winter fashion is my toughest because I HAVE to stay warm.
ReplyDeleteGosh, I'm just so obsessed with polka dots! I want them all!

i actually love your outfit better than the inspiration! adorable!
ReplyDeleteOld Navy doesn't have that sweater online anymore and the last time I saw a great polkadot sweater it was from Piperlime and it's gone. Anyone know where I can get a polka dot crewneck sweater? #3 on J's list is sort of a backwards cardigan which I'm not feelin. Jcrew has one that's perfect but it's cashmere and $180 on sale.. not in my budget ever.
ReplyDeleteOk this outfit is perfection! Girly with and edge so cute! I love all the stuff that you put together!!
ReplyDeleteI just had to follow you!

I'm not a big polka dot fan but they are growing on me! I love that jacket! It fits you perfectly and I don't think you'll ever get tired of it.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! I would never think to put this combo together but I love it. Thanks for showing us again how to use colored jeans into the cooler months.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! I have some awesome pink and purple colored jeans but now that it's cold out i don't want to throw them in the back of my closet. :( Love this look and I agree J, the inspiration photo shoes are amazeballs. :)
ReplyDeleteI love polkadots no matter what the season!! :)

ReplyDeleteI love these J Crew inspirations you've been using! I really need to try this too...dig through their catalog and try to recreate a fun work look. Mine have definitely hit a slump lately and I think this will turn it around nicely! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this look! The pink with the camel color is my favorite! I love how you added the leather jacket, it really is a gorgeous jacket! Looks amazing with the polka dot sweater!

I am with you, Emily. I wanted this specific sweater and missed it. None of the "comparison" ones seem to match the color and cut perfection of this one. Sadly, on ebay, this sweater is going for $70+! C'mon, retailers, there is a demand here!
ReplyDeleteso in love with this polka dot sweater. esp like how you paired it with a bright summer color! :]

There is a similar one on gap.com with grey & white polka dots.
ReplyDeleteLove the polka dot sweater. I very much regret not getting it. I like the one from Forever 21 as well. Great outfit.

I'm not typically drawn to polka dots, but they're definitely contagious and I'm loving them right now. I even did a post on them a month or so back! http://whenwewander.blogspot.it/2012/08/do-polka_27.html
ReplyDeleteYou can still find the old navy sweater on eBay-but it is more expensive.
ReplyDeleteLove both the inspiration outfit and yours! Super cute pairing! :)

Just curious J, we seem to be about the same size. What size did you end up getting in the jacket?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Loving polka dots this fall and all things J Crew!
ReplyDeleteI got the sweater in green with navy. Loving it with all kinds of funky combinations!
Now I wish I had gotten the camel one because I have her pink jeans!
I love J.Crew outfits, they have some talented stylists. I am totally digging polka dots, I actually have the same sweater in white!

I'm in love with this look since it's casual and cute and appropriate for school since it's not super dressy!!

Love, love, love the dots! I have a pair of peach jeans from Target that would look good with a brown sweater. I loved the polka dot sweater from Madewell last year, but I did not buy it. I will need to check out Old Navy because it looks similar to yours.
ReplyDeleteLove J. Crew. Love Polka dots. Love this outfit.

Very cute outfit! I love that you found such a cute camel polka dot sweat for under $20! I'm going to try to find it too :)
ReplyDeletehttp://swagnstyle.blogspot.ca
Gap has a short sleeved crew neck which I'm contemplating getting but I want a crew neck sweater. I don't like the contrast of the dots circular shape with the pointyness of a vneck. I feel like crew neck better complements the dots
ReplyDeleteLove J Crew and polka dots. So glad ON had some very similar pieces this season to satisfy my J Crew wants.

Amy, I got the XS!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rejeana! Yes, these shoes are super-comfy. The high platform makes them really comfy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Marina! I ordered an XS.
ReplyDeleteThanks Katie! The quality seems great for Old Navy. I haven't washed it yet though, and that seems to be when cheap clothes go south, so my fingers are crossed.
ReplyDeleteThanks Katie! This sweater is a several months old, I'm guessing it would be very tough to find in stores!
ReplyDeleteAs always, I like your outfit even BETTER than your inspiration photo! :) :)
ReplyDelete...but I wish wish wish wish wish I could still buy that sweater at ON! :(
ReplyDeleteAdorable outfit! Love love love the sweater.
ReplyDeleteSurprisingly this is one of my favorite outfits that you have done (I have lots!!). Both version look amazing. You look very well put together J!
ReplyDeleteCute combo! I like your outfit better than the inspiration photo!

Love this outfit! I have to find a similar sweater haha :)
ReplyDeleteLove this sweater from Old Navy. Looks lovely with the pink! If you have a minute, I'd love for you to check out how I styled the same sweater but with mint and leopard! -Megan, xoxo
