I can't say enough good things about these burgundy jeans. I don't think I have ever bought pants or jeans from Target, but these were the exact color I was looking for, and they fit like a glove (I had to size up one size, and only in these jeans, not in the other Mossimo jeans and cords I tried on). Paired with my favorite navy polka dot top from a few years ago, I think this might be my new go-to look for fall! What are your favorite stores for jeans?

J. you look great in everything but these jeans are awesome!!! I think it's perfect for fall because that color is so huge right now!!
ReplyDeleteoliviamoone.blogspot.com
I am so so jealous of your top - it is absolutely perfect. Would go with a darker tank top underneath though, the white is a little distracting.
ReplyDeleteHave fun in NY! What an awesome opportunity.
I just bought the same jeans at Target, plus the emerald green ones. I also had to size up one size (and that NEVER happens!). I love the fall colors and am so excited to find things that fit me at Target - those jeans look great on you : )
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit . Finding pants that fit at Target is a challenge but I'm beginning to fall in love with Old Navy .
ReplyDeleteI agree about the top...it's awesome but the white is distracting. I bet a nude tank underneath would look great!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is perfection!
ReplyDeleteLove this look!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely adore this outfit! Other than the heels (I'm 5'11" so I usually opt for flats) I would wear every single piece! I love the burgundy jeans, and I've been looking for a pair since the beginning of fall! So cute :)

okay LOVE the jeans and HUGE congrats on the runway opportunity!! that is amazing!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are killing me LOL! The white tank was bugging me, I showed the picture to a friend and they assured me that I was crazy/OCD for even noticing. Total fail.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jessica! Glad to hear the sizing is consistent for others who tried them on! :-)
ReplyDeletei love this look! the top tempers the jeans, and it looks very classy!

Amazing outfit! Love the blouse and the jeans. ♥

I just ordered a pair of burgundy jeans! love this outfit!

I just bought these burgundy jeans from Target as well!! I think burgundy is definitely the "it" color for fall!

Bought the same jeans on Sunday and was doing a happy dance in the fitting room once I had them on! I've been wanting to try color denim for a long time and this is my first pair (gasp!!) and I love it! I feel like this color burgundy has brown tones and doesn't feel as drastic as buying a red denim. I can't wait to see what else you pair with these pants so we can be Target pant sister twins :) Love your blog. Keep doing big things :)
ReplyDeleteLoving it! I'm going to pair mine with navy polka dots!
ReplyDeleteI love your outfit. I just bought a pair of burgundish/purple jeans and I'm going to wear them today. So excited. I love being excited about wearing clothes. Love the polka dot blouse. I just bought a sleeveless polka dot one. I find the Gap is great for jeans. I find the ones at Old Navy loose their shape to easily. Great outfit again.

I love those jeans--I've been looking for a pair in that color! I'll have to try Target...they're very hit or miss in the jeans department for me, but maybe I'll have the same good luck. I love how you styled them with polka dots!
ReplyDeleteOne of my all time favorite looks! So cute! Have fun in NYC www.dreamboatfashion.com
ReplyDeleteI love this look on you! It looks fantastic, and very fall-ish! It definitely should be your go to fall look.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this outfit!! This is def one of my favorite in a while:) Keep it up!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous outfit! This needs to be a "go to"!
ReplyDeleteLove Bryant Park! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteGreat jeans! I buy a lot of neutrals from Target & they fit very well. I've been looking for pants this color too. Looks like I'm heading to Target soon!

I love this entire outfit! Those Target jeans don't fit me, or else I'd have been all over them already! I love your links to the polka dot tops. I know that J.Crew top is super old, but whenever I see you or Kendi wear it, I wish J.Crew would come out with it again haha. I love the Piperlime and Macy's options you showed--now the real question is how much I'd really wear either of them and whether or not I'm ready to fork over the money to invest in them!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is super cute, I love everything about it! :)
ReplyDeleteThe only complaint I have about Target’s colored/printed skinnies is that the sizing is unreliable, but I do think they are a much more affordable option than most I have seen elsewhere. The Limited has had some awesome deals lately, though & their 678 colored skinny jeans fit *perfectly,* seriously! For someone on the shorter side at least (about 5’4”), the inseam is the perfect length.
I like the colors, but man, those pants are tight. The Target ones are the worst. I can't imagine sitting down in them all day.
ReplyDeletei really like most of your outfits, but why are pants that are so tight and puckery attractive? i really would like to understand...
ReplyDeleteLooks like people have a love/hate relationship with Target jeans. I have several pairs and have no problems, so these burgundy ones are on the list. Thanks for the great idea - as always
ReplyDeleteI might be guilty of buying my skinny jeans too big, but they are definitely not too tight. :-) I prefer a denim that is super-thick and not at all stretchy. These are a departure from that - but the upside is that they are so soft and comfy I feel like wearing pajama bottoms. I also like how they don't "puddle" at the bottom like many skinny jeans do! And of course the color sold me more than anything. Hope this helps!
ReplyDeleteKaren, I agree! The sizing is way off on these. One size up though and these are some of the comfiest jeans I own. :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Molly!
ReplyDeleteI love old navy jeans. I own tons of them. Congrats on working with them.
ReplyDeleteShut up! I just bought a pair of burgundy jeans and was wondering if it was a mistake. I have been having trouble putting together outfits to wear them with. I tried a blue and white striped top, but wondered if it would be too much like the American flag? But I love this look on you! I think it looks great!
ReplyDeleteI have one pair of jeans from target that I got on a sale a long time ago, but they are by far my favorite skinny jeans. They were from the William Rast brand by Justin Timberlake (what? they fit me?) and I was completely suprised that I liked them. I'll have to go try on some more, and see if the Mossimo brand fits as well! :) I love that burgundy color!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is gorgeous!!! You look so tiny!
ReplyDeleteLOVE those jeans! I recently bought a pair just like these from Express on sale and cant wait to wear them! Its nice to see your reactions to comments that people express about your jeans being too tight. I don't think they look tight at ALL, gosh makes me wonder what people are saying about my jeans! lol Well if they look tight to everyone but feel AMAZING to you, then rock on, cause at the end of the day you have to wear them. I bought a pair of the mint colored jeans from Target and love them but I realize jeans can be different for everyone.
ReplyDeleteI really love the color of those pants! I've got to get me some fall colored denim! Lovely outfit,

Hey J,
ReplyDeletesometimes when I try to visit your blog a warning comes up that it may be harmful to my computer...
I love, love, love the navy with the burgundy! I'm currently coveting a burgundy faux leather skirt from The Limited so I'll be saving this outfit as an idea.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! I love the maroon color and paired with the polka dots. Hitting on two trends in one look without looking overly trendy. Love it!
ReplyDeletelove, love, love your fall look! The color is really great and I do like your top a lot. It's a perfect look for cooler days and the shoes complete it. I'm just wondering why you chose to wear a white tank under it? I would usually go for a black one, so it doesn't shine throught that much. Or is it just on the photos?
ReplyDeleteP.S. Glad you have this great opportunity, I hope you enjoy it to the fullest and just have fun in NYC! Looking forward to your post.
Love this! And the shoes are fab. However, I would wear a navy tank top under the shirt to minimize the outline of the seams and of the ruffled panel. It would make it look richer! Have fun in NYC!
ReplyDeleteI love the outfit but I would have worn different shoes. I love the shoes but I don't think they go well with this outfit!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think it is the white tank top throwing it off though - the shoes match the color of the polka dots exactly. :-) (look at my arm in the bottom picture)
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is prefect for fall. Love the burgundy. I saw in the Sept issue if instyle magazine a spread on burgundy for fall. They suggested pairing it with baby blue. I tried it and looks great. I like your navy combo here, also!
ReplyDeleteI just adore this look, J! The burgundy jeans look incredible on you! I love the color. I will definitely have to stop by Target and check them out!
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful! Love the wine color pants, with the navy blue top! I have a similar color pair, i like that you paired it with polka dotes too! Knock them dead at the fashion show! We all know you will be great!!
ReplyDeleteXO http://shesaidhesaid-fashion.blogspot.com
Did they stretch out throughout the day (like in the butt especially)?
ReplyDeleteI've gotten this too lately, and I've never had this issue with your blog before.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you posted these jeans. I don't fit in the Mossimo Supply Co. jeans (I think they're the junior's version?) but fit perfectly in the regular Mossimo ones. A few weeks ago I bought pairs in burgundy, eggplant/dark purple, and dark green but didn't know how to wear them. Now you've given me some ideas! Thank you. Love reading your blog every day after work and dinner.
ReplyDeleteI actually wore a pair of cranberry cords today and did a OOTD post about my love for them as well! I got mine at Goodwill (lucky find!) but my favorite retail store for jeans is Urban Outfitters; they're just cut to fit me perfectly!! :)

I'm in NYC, but can't make it on Friday, bummer! Historically I've tried avoiding fashion week because it's just SO crowded, but there are some events I'd love to be able to make!
ReplyDeletethis is one of my favorite outfits of yours ever! thanks J!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to NYC! I'm sure you'll do amazing in the fashion show. I hope you have a great time during your stay here :)
ReplyDeletei've been eyeing those target colored jeans for a while now...and ya can't beat the price!
ReplyDeletehttp://ohhhsolovely.blogspot.com/
Love the whole look. You look amazing! I have always loved burgundy, especially for fall. I find it a colour that really works for most people. I love that it is on trend right now. I have burgundy pants and this is how I casually style them here: http://coverupchic.blogspot.ca/2012/09/casual-fall-attire-burgundy-and-studs.html
ReplyDeleteI also love the polka dot blouses you showcased. I have a polka dot blouse and have worn it to death, one way I did is here: http://coverupchic.blogspot.ca/2012/08/summer-attire-boyfriends.html
I find it hard to pay top dollar for coloured jeans, so I tend to shop for mine at Zara. I find their Trafaluc jeans fit me well and are much cheaper (around $25 to $39) than their higher end Zara brand. Toronto does not have Target stores yet, but we will be getting them in the new year :)
I found a great pair of burgundy jeans at The Limited not long ago, and they've been having some great sales. If anybody is interested, they're doing a free virtual dollars giveaway on their facebook page if you "like" them then go to the virtual dollars tab at the top.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the navy and burgundy combination, this will definitely be one of my go-to for this fall. I was actually wearing almost the same outfit a couple of days ago - great minds, eh?! Also fantastic news about the fashion show, what an amazing opportunity!
ReplyDeleteI tried on those jeans yesterday but was iffy on sizing because I wasn't sure if they were the type to stretch out a lot after wear like some other mossimo pants I have (specifically, the colored cropped denim which is a slightly different feel than these). Do they hold their shape pretty well, or stretch out a lot? Thanks! (PS: new reader as of today, can't wait to go through more of your posts!!)
ReplyDeleteJ, thanks do much for posting similar items to your top. I've been wanting a similar top for ages, but never quite found the tight one. After seeing your post yesterday I immediately purchased number 4. I kinda wish it was navy, but I think the fact that it is black works better with my wardrobe. Here's hoping it works for me. I'm petite do sometimes it's hard to find appropriate shirts in regular sizes.

I have that top and love it! May have to try those burgundy jeans!
ReplyDeleteThank you and welcome to the blog! I haven't given them a good enough spin to know about stretching out yet, but will keep you posted (feel free to ask me again later if I forget!).
ReplyDeleteThat outfit is super cute, one of my favorites of yours!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is super cute! I was attempting to recreate it with a different color pant in my closet, but decided to purchase the burgandy jeans. I was really surpised at the fit - especially at Target! They are just like you said..."fit like a glove". Love the jeans and my creation looks just fab!!!
ReplyDeletei loveee this outfit!
ReplyDeleteLove the Burgundy Jeans. . . When you posted they were from Target on your Monthly purchases update, I went that same day and got me a pair. They fit great! Woot!
ReplyDeleteLOVE these burgundy jeans! Must. Have.
ReplyDeleteI just bought me a pair of burgundy jeans at Marshall's for about $25.00.
ReplyDeleteI love love love this outfit! It is prefect for fall! I am going to have to scoop up those jeans! I love the color!

ReplyDeleteThis LC top from Kohls isn't navy, but I have it and looks great with burgundy jeans. Top looks better in person than on website, I love it! great post
I am SO disappointed - I ordered these jeans online, and when they came in they were as bright cherry red, NOT burgundy!!! Blech, that's what I get for online shopping instead of just going into the store... I wonder if Target just sent me the wrong thing!
ReplyDeleteSarah, Target needs to work on the coloring of their items online - I really don't think they match very well to the items in person. I looked again and I definitely have the burgundy color of these on, and at least on my computer screen they look true to real life in the photos above. They have a very red/orange undertone, not a dark purple maroon, but definitely not bright cherry red. Did they send you the 'crimson' color by accident?
ReplyDeleteThat's what I thought, but the packaging says "Burgundy." They're sold out online now (sigh) and when I called my local Target the girl said "We have them but these don't look burgundy - they're more of a bright red." I think the universe is conspiring against me in my quest to find burgundy jeans! Oh well - guess I will just continue to imagine myself looking as great as you do in burgundy jeans :)
ReplyDeletevery cute! Love polka dots!

Love this look & your concept of being the "Rachael Ray of fashion". Too cute!
ReplyDeleteI bought my burgundy jeans at Marshalls for $30. They are the brand 7. I am wearing them to work today with a white and black polka dot blouse.
ReplyDeleteI love the blouse but are you sure it is J Crew? They sell no clothing for $45.00
ReplyDeleteLol yes! I have at least 10 items from J.Crew in my closet that were under $50. This particular shirt I got 2 years ago online (on sale). I don't shop at the J.Crew outlet, only the regular store.
ReplyDeleteI would like to know as well! I'm torn between 2 sizes in these jeans. I'm curious if these will stretch out quite a bit as you wear them and/or if they shrink in the wash.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I just bought these in plum and burgundy, love the colors!
Lisa, I wore them recently and they didn't seem to stretch out much at all. Haven't washed them yet, but I'm planning to not put them in the dryer when I do!
ReplyDeleteI absolutley love your style!
ReplyDeleteThose jeans are a good fit for you. I saw the first picture and thought how I loved them. Target jeans didn't fit me so well. I really like this outfit. Do you ever wear your polka dot shirt with other color camis underneath?
ReplyDeleteThanks Colleen! Yes, I think this top would've looked much better with a nude/cream cami underneath, and have worn it that way before! :-)
ReplyDeleteI thought they did - but apparently all the "burgundy" ones in my local store look the same! They are as bright as the red bullseye in the target logo! But there is a women's version of this jean in "Premium" for just $5 more, and I bought those to try - they are a little more purple than yours but they are definitely burgundy! Sigh of relief - I finally got my burgundy jeans! :)
ReplyDeleteI too ordered them on line and received the same color you are describing. J is right I believe the color they sent is the crimson. Luckily when I returned them they had the burgundy color at the store.
ReplyDeleteI have looked all over for a black/white polka dot blouse. All of your suggestions either have xsm or out of stock! So frustrating
ReplyDelete
