Use what you got. That's my totally improper way of 'splaining that while my pink skirt may not be an exact match to the inspiration photo's neon jeans, sometimes it's okay to use what you already have. Take the same basic idea - a neon bottom with a white top and neon necklace - and run with it, even if it's not an exact match. (Note: this is not a work look, my skirt is way too short.) Is this an outfit you would try?

I actually love this! The neon pink skirt looks awesome with white, its so fresh
ReplyDeleteLove the neon necklaces! I love that you just used what you had instead of doing an exact match. I always wondered if you go out and buy items for your copy cat looks...

Yes I would try this outfit. I also cannot do an exact match but I do similar colors. I am doing your leopard printed skirt and blue top today.
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit-both yours and hers. I actually used this image as inspiration for an outfit on my blog ( http://abbyisalldolledup.wordpress.com/2012/07/03/day-to-night/ ) and also used it as my submission to guest blog for you! It's a great one and I love your pink skirt!

Beautiful combo, looks great! ♥
ReplyDeleteIve been looking for a way to replicate this outfit!!!

I like the inspiration picture better for the only reason that I'm more into skinnies than pencil skirts. But the color combination is killer, I like the way you interpreted the look. It feels very summer-chic with the white blazer. Great outfit overall. But I couldn't recreate the look because I don't have a white pant or blazer and I don't own anything neon ;-)
ReplyDeletevery cute! love the necklace.

LOVE the pairing of the neons! I have a yellow bubble necklace that I haven't worn yet and this post definitely gives me some ideas!

Love the outfit!!
ReplyDeleteI love the yellow necklace. I ordered one off of ebay and just got it in the mail a few days ago. I can't wait to wear it. Great outfit. I am digging the shoes and white blazer.
ReplyDeletei love the idea of using what you already have. i think i'm going to challenge myself to not really buy many new things for winter & just use what's in my cluttered closet!

Love you white blazer. I recently purchased one for $35. It was on sale. I have yet to wear it but fell in love with it. I love wearing blazers. Oh and by the way I recreated an outfit you had. You were wearing black shorts with a black button top. I wore black shorts, with a white button shirt and black patent heels. Thanks for the inspiration.

I like the idea of trying to use what you have. I'm very guilty of "I have nothing to wear" syndrome! I haven't gotten into the neon trend this summer, but it looks great on you.
ReplyDeleteI love the outfit--I have held off on "statement" necklaces because I was too scared to know what to wear them with...This is a simple solution :).
ReplyDeleteThanks!

ReplyDeleteThese colors just go so well together! So fresh and clean!
ReplyDeleteLove this look! Works so well together. Pinterest and blogs like this have made me realise I need to go through the clothes I already have and create new outfits!

loving the ideas for pops of color! i am so glad i discovered your site on pinterest!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see some colored denim ideas for fall! :)
Hi J! Just out of curiosity, I remember you have a pair of pink jeans. How come you didn't wear those? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThose jeans would definitely work in this outfit, but they aren't nearly as neon/glowing as my skirt! :-)
ReplyDeleteLove it! That's totally what I'm trying to do with this blog - make new with what you already have. :-)
ReplyDeleteNo, I definitely don't buy the items to copy looks! I will start to notice a trend in my photos I save - such as saving 10 photos with emerald green jeans, so then I go out and buy them. But I never copy one picture by buying something.
ReplyDeleteWhile I'm not totally into neon, I do love the neutrals in this outfit! I would never have thought to wear a white blazer over a white shirt but it looks really chic.
ReplyDeletecute idea! nice combination! <3
ReplyDeleteNatalia, http://my-crazy-idea.blogspot.com
I see! Thanks! You are awesome!
ReplyDeleteLove this. I will be wearing my neons into the fall. Hope you style some neon pieces in the fall as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration! I just bought a yellow necklace and was able to put this outfit together with a top and bottom from my closet. I got so many compliments today!
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVEEEEEEEE
ReplyDeleteThis might be one of my favorite outfits I've ever seen you put together!
