I am totally in love with anything ballet-inspired, so when I spotted this Christian Dior runway photo, it made my heart go pitter patter. I pulled out my favorite pink cupcake dress, and tried it as a skirt (see it as a dress here). I loved the result and wanted to share it with you, I only wish I had an occasion to wear it. For now I'm just playing dress up. :-) Would you wear a ballet-inspired look?

Super cute! This is something that I would wear. I can't believe that third dress is from F21. I never see stuff like that when I'm in their store...
ReplyDeleteHead to toe I especially LOVE this look. I can't believe that's a dress, I had to go click to make sure:)

The grey sweater really looks great with the pale pink dress underneath. It's a great combination, especially because it's a longsleeve. It's unexpected and really pretty. I love that you don't have to be tan to wear this look, I think it might look great with any skin tone. You definetely chose the right accessories, they complete the look. I guess I'd wear this look for a dinner night out with friends.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I really love the way you wear your hair, lately :-)
Love this so much! You look great!

ReplyDeleteI love this look. I also use my dresses as skirts. Usually in winter I will wear a long sleeve shirt over my sheath dress . Nobody ever guesses I am really wearing a dress.
ReplyDeleteHow do you get the beautiful soft wave in your hair!
ReplyDeleteThat is my natural 'do Becki. Not really curly enough to be curly, not really straight enough to want to stay straight. :-)
ReplyDeleteSTUNNING!!! Love!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit J, looks perfect! I might need to try this!

As a former ballerina, I love ballet-inspired looks as well! It brings out all my childhood and pre-teen memories! Not to mention the look can make you feel so regal and glamorous! This looks beautiful on you!
ReplyDeleteI love all the dresses. These are simply stunning. I love ballet-inspired.I am waiting to collect one.
ReplyDeleteHey J! I love this look and I have tried it several times with different dresses. But I always have trouble with it looking bulky. Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteI totally hear you on this, and I was actually really surprised that this worked so well with this dress. You could try a top that is loose - see this post for an example (black + white striped shirt): http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2011/05/6-clothing-items-you-can-repurpose-now.html
ReplyDeleteI love the dress as a skirt! So cute
ReplyDeleteLove the dress as a skirt! I've noticed you seem to wear your pumps with a little space in them, and have been wondering how you keep them from slipping? I've been trying to figure out the ideal fit for pumps/heels. Any tips on finding the right fit?
ReplyDeleteThanks Jackie! I'm a size 9.5 in shoes, but unfortunately most brands don't make that size so I wind up with a slightly too big size 10 in pumps. These shoes are the worst case with that. I hardly ever notice when I wear them, but I have tried inserts and nothing has worked very well so far.
ReplyDeleteHi J. I've been following your blog for a while but haven't commented before. I just adore this outfit and think you are creative and stylish. I admire your sense of style and look forward to each post! Thank you for sharing! :) - Kerry Ann
