Just when you thought I forgot about Flashback Friday posts, I'm back with a plethora of pictures featuring bad photo quality and bad blonde highlights. :-) Instead of showing you multiple ways to wear one item for Flashback Friday though, I'm showing a bunch of different military + safari outfits. I'm calling it "military + safari" because as I started to save outfits for this post I realized there really isn't much difference between the two trends. They both call for a large amount of olive and neutral colors and have an overabundance of cargo pockets. Some looks are decidedly more military or more safari, but I decided I would include all of them and let you choose. Are you a fan of this trend? Which outfit do you like the best?
Military + safari shopping options |

2. Urban Outfitters green vest, $69
3. Sierra Trading Post skirt, $39.95

Awesome post, J! I love when you do these compilation entries! =D All of your outfits are great (like always), but I have to say I have my favorites! These are my favorites:
ReplyDelete1. The all white ensemble with the military jacket,
2. The olive green shorts, black blouse and edgy statement necklace
3. The snakeskin top with the belted skirt
Sorry I couldn't just pick one look =D And as I'm sure you can tell, I'm a huge fan of both military and safari trends!

I love the first look! Where did that adorable jacket come from?
ReplyDeleteThank you! That is my navy blazer from Gap, got it about 4 years ago. You can see it in 14 different outfits here: http://www.jseverydayfashion.com/2011/03/flashback-friday-navy-blazer.html
ReplyDeletethe sequin skirt look is TOTALLY my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of this trend! Funny to read your post today because I happen to have chosen a military + safari look myself this morning (orange zebra H&M blouse and military green NY&Co chinos). It's a tough call, but I think outfit #4 (the white t and shorts paired with military jacket) and the last one (black blouse and military green shorts) are my definite faves.
ReplyDeleteI am going to try the olive shorts with the white sweater because I have these two pieces.
ReplyDeleteLoving all the looks J, your totally inspiring me to go more military!

ReplyDeleteWhere did you get that jacket in the Kate Hudson-inspired look?
ReplyDeleteIt's from Limited many years ago. I just sold it in my last closet sale.
ReplyDeleteThe first skirt is an olive green color and it's from Banana about 4 years ago.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE that last one! Where is the necklace from?!

I think the olive looks freshest with white. Great combos, all!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff! Thanks,
ReplyDeleteGosh, I hope this doesn't sound inappropriate but you have the BEST legs! Inspiration for the treadmill for sure! I really like the last look with the black shirt. The necklace and heels take it into very stylish territory.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh! You do it so perfectly! Thanks for the inspiration! :) You rock!

I actually have two favorites...the one with the glitzy sequined skirt and the two-pocket safari shirt - I like the mixture of feminine and masculine elements. My other favorite is the black shirt with the olive green shorts - that outfit just looks comfy!
ReplyDeleteHooray! I really did almost think you gave up on Flashback Fridays! I'm so happy they're back. They are back, right? :-D
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh Kate you just made me laugh! :-) I won't be doing them every Friday, but I'm glad to hear you enjoy them and will definitely consider doing them more often!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lauren! All of those pieces are at least 2 years old, but navy blazer is Gap, camel tee is F21, olive skirt and brooch are both Banana, belt is Urban Outfitters and shoes are Restricted from Endless.
ReplyDeleteI love that there are so many interesting and creative ways to do "safari"! Especially with sequins!

Love these types of posts.
ReplyDeleteNothing to add. You are really cleverer than your inspirations. I like everything but I have to say that the outfit with the sequin skirt is sheer genius. Bravo.
