Does this outfit look familiar? I did a similar outfit in April (here) with a striped boatneck shirt and yellow belt, but I loved this new take on it so much, I decided it was worth a second spin. I like this look for two reasons - one, I'm a huge fan of dressing up a casual t-shirt to wear with a pencil skirt to work. And two, I like the added visual interest with the layered cardigan and big yellow necklace. This one feels a little more Anthropologie than the other look, and after a few months I think it deserves a repeat! Would stripes + polka dots ever fly in your office?

ReplyDeleteGreat post as ever. Love stripes and polka dots together! I am wearing a J. Crew polka dot skirt paired with stripes on my post today! Whitley
ReplyDeletePS--I have no idea why my id is showing up at "HitTheBricks?!!" That is awful! I'm posting via my husband's lap top, so maybe that's it?? At any rate, so sorry!

Another hit! I love the unexpected pattern combo of stripes and pokadots with the navy and cream pulling them together.
ReplyDeleteI'm typically just a 'lurker', but I had to comment today. This is BY FAR one of my very favorite posts you've done! This whole outfit screams to me "wear me!" lol. Love it. So fun, perfect mix of prints. I MUST have that cardigan! Please, H&M, have online shopping soon :(
ReplyDeleteGreat Job, J! Love your daily inspiration!!
The outfit looks great, love the colurs! ♥
ReplyDeleteJ, wow, you did it again! This is probably my favorite outfit of yours ever! I can also see the outift being casual with a great pair of sandals and no cardigan. Maybe for a summer date night or something. So GREAT!

I love this! Polka dots and stripes are two of my favorites- though this definitely wouldn't work in my office!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could pin your outfits but it never works for me.. You should add the "pin it" button. :)
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this J! I loved the way you mixed stripes and polka dots.I also love that even though its so hot in Florida you still threw on a cardi. I live in Louisiana where its also super hot but I still wear a cardi because its so cold at work.
ReplyDeleteCute! I don't work in an office, so polka dots and stripes would totally work for me!

I'm a teacher, and this would actually be a perfect young teacher outfit. The skirt is long enough, and it's trendy without being too over the top for a school day.
ReplyDeleteI love this look, definitely want to recreate it!

Oh I love this, one of the best youve put together!

One of my favorite looks, and one I get a lot of compliments on, is my polkadot skirt and striped sweater. I typically wear it with red or bright blue, but I will add yellow as another possible pop of color. I like your version better than the inspiration's.
ReplyDeletecool! I like it!
ReplyDeleteYES! They would totally fly at my office! Great color scheme too!!
ReplyDeletethe best part of this outfit is that i can recreate it head to toe! gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you Miranda, you are sweet! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Brandy! I pretty much always have a cardigan in my purse - it's freezing inside in the summer, so silly.
ReplyDeleteHmm... sorry to hear that! I've added it a few times, but I will try to do it more often!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Courtney! I love it when lurkers say hello. ;-) And I agree - H&M needs to add online shopping pronto.
ReplyDeleteHaha that's okay Whitley!

I have worn stripes and polka dots at work and gotten a lot of compliments, but my husband took one look at me and said "Dear, do you match? Noooooo, you don't match."
ReplyDeleteThis is probably one of my favorite of your outfits! Not because it is our necklace :) I love the mixed prints and colors! GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit. Great print mixing and that necklace is gorgeous. You look fantastic!

I love this look! Stripes and dots are both so classic so I feel like you'll be able to wear those items forever :)
ReplyDeleteI love how you use cardigans so much! I own a ton of them and wear them almost daily. I freeze to death at work! haha. Love how simple and stylish this outfit is. Great print combos!
ReplyDeleteDo you mix silver and gold jewelry? or mostly stick to one?
ReplyDeleteI mostly wear gold, but I love jewelry that is mixed. Some of my Stella & Dot bracelets I wear everyday are both silver and gold!
ReplyDeleteI love how you incorporate your cardigans, too. I have a ton and am always trying to fit them in, but it just never seems to work out for me :( Anyhow, love the outfit...
ReplyDeleteLove the look, the layers, and believe it or not, I like your tweek to it. The thinner stripes look better, the yellow necklace is more striking, and overall I think your style savvy finds take this to another level! Adding it to the herstyle finds! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI really like this look - the stripes and dots are perfect together since they're in the same color family, and the pops of colors with the necklace and shoes are so fun!
ReplyDeletevery cute! You are so good at re-creating looks for less! Great job!

I think I'm going to get addicted to stripes and dots. Love your combo!
ReplyDeleteThanks to you, I have a shiny new yellow statement necklace on its way. Thanks for that link!
