Today's Everyday Fashion: Second Spin

Does this outfit look familiar? I did a similar outfit in April (here) with a striped boatneck shirt and yellow belt, but I loved this new take on it so much, I decided it was worth a second spin. I like this look for two reasons - one, I'm a huge fan of dressing up a casual t-shirt to wear with a pencil skirt to work. And two, I like the added visual interest with the layered cardigan and big yellow necklace. This one feels a little more Anthropologie than the other look, and after a few months I think it deserves a repeat! Would stripes + polka dots ever fly in your office?

Thank you for letting me know where you got that necklace, it looks just like the JCrew one I have been dying to purchase, but your version is 1/3 of the price.  You are awesome!

J, wow, you did it again! This is probably my favorite outfit of yours ever! I can also see the outift being casual with a great pair of sandals and no cardigan. Maybe for a summer date night or something. So GREAT!

  15. I love everything about this J! I loved the way you mixed stripes and polka dots.I also love that even though its so hot in Florida you still threw on a cardi. I live in Louisiana where its also super hot but I still wear a cardi because its so cold at work.

  23. I'm a teacher, and this would actually be a perfect young teacher outfit. The skirt is long enough, and it's trendy without being too over the top for a school day.

  32. One of my favorite looks, and one I get a lot of compliments on, is my polkadot skirt and striped sweater. I typically wear it with red or bright blue, but I will add yellow as another possible pop of color. I like your version better than the inspiration's.

  50. I love how you use cardigans so much! I own a ton of them and wear them almost daily. I freeze to death at work! haha. Love how simple and stylish this outfit is. Great print combos!

  51. Do you mix silver and gold jewelry? or mostly stick to one?

    ReplyDelete
  52. I mostly wear gold, but I love jewelry that is mixed. Some of my Stella & Dot bracelets I wear everyday are both silver and gold!

    ReplyDelete
  53. I love how you incorporate your cardigans, too. I have a ton and am always trying to fit them in, but it just never seems to work out for me :( Anyhow, love the outfit...

  54. Love the look, the layers, and believe it or not, I like your tweek to it.  The thinner stripes look better, the yellow necklace is more striking, and overall I think your style savvy finds take this to another level!  Adding it to the herstyle finds!  Great job!

  55. I really like this look - the stripes and dots are perfect together since they're in the same color family, and the pops of colors with the necklace and shoes are so fun!
