Tiffani Amber Thiessen, I see your adorable outfit and I raise it one pair of fun polka dot shorts! You know those purchases that are just instant yeses? These shorts were it for me. I actually did a little dance in the dressing room I love them so much, and at less than $20? Pshhh, no brainer. I love mixing polka dots right now, so I decided to use my new shorts in place of the inspiration photo's solid shorts. I added a navy blazer and a brown bag for day, and wound up wearing this to a brief appearance at the most recent Lady Bloggers meet-up last week (I got in a fender bender so I missed most of it, boo). Would you ever wear polka dot shorts?

So cute, love how you styled these! I got the sailboat shorts and polka dot crops from Old Navy and love them :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute, J. I LOVE the mix of the different neutrals, black polka dots, brownish-nutmeg shorts, navy blazer, brown bag & shoes.. the perfect mix :) Thank you so much for continuing to amp up the style for those of us who need a little pick-me-up. Love!
ReplyDeleteI would totally rock polka dots shorts. I would have gone with a solid top though. Love the mix of colors. Navy is one of my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI would wear polka dot shorts all day every day if I could get away with it :-) Love your interpretation!

I have those same shorts in green and black (they were in sale for $12 each so why not). But I had no idea what one would wear with the brown ones! Great outfit!
ReplyDeleteLove this look! I got those same shorts in the black with white dots, and I LOVE them! Might have to try some camel paired with them for a similar look to yours.
ReplyDeleteI would basically wear anything if it involved polka dots. Love this outfit.

I love this outfit and I JUST bought the black and white polka dots shorts from ON and LOVE them. They didn't have the nutmeg when I was there, but now I must look for them. Great outfit!
ReplyDeleteThis look is incredible!! I love it! I would have never ever thought that these shorts work with this shirt. And I would have never bother to even try it out, I'm really stunned, it's an amazing combination and I'd def. wear this look! The shorts are adorable, the polka dots are really sweet. The shoes and blazer are the perfect addition to this lovely look, I love it. Great choice, I admire your sense of style, especially when it comes to mixing prints like that! I like your interpretation a lot more then the look in your inspiration photo! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love print mix. I'd totally rock those shorts!

I bought those shorts on clearance for $6 a couple weeks ago. I couldn't decide if I liked them or what to wear them with. Dang. Should have kept them. Returned last week.
ReplyDeleteThe neutrals/earth tones - (in your really pretty and very chic outfit!!) - almost seem as if they're all ............ *stylishly softened* ............ by circles and/or ovals:
ReplyDeleteOne R.o.u.n.d. gold button ............ on each of the sleeves of your navy blazer; (plus two additional gold buttons on the left front).
R.o.u.n.d.-and-O.v.a.l. black dots ............ on your white shirt.
An O.v.a.l. Labradorite stone ............ on your pendant necklace.
Two R.o.u.n.d. bracelets ............ on each of your arms.
A R.o.u.n.d. dial ............ on your wristwatch.
An O.v.a.l., smoky, cut-glass stone and an O.v.a.l. Aventurine stone ............ on your rings.
White polka D.o.t.s. ............ on your (*gorgeous*!!) nutmeg shorts.
A R.o.u.n.d. base-plate ............ on the turn-latch closure of your purse.
R.o.u.n.d.e.d. toes ............ on your camel pumps!!
That is such a cute outfit. I Love it.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how good the two prints look together! I adore the shirt & the bag is to die for. So cute!

Nailed it! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLOVE this outfit! I can't seem to find the LOFT shirt. Is it online?
ReplyDeleteThanks Kait! The LOFT shirt is a couple years old. I always link to an item if it is still available, and if it's not then I provide alternates like the 5 lovely polka dot shirts pictured! Those were the closest I could find. :-)
ReplyDeleteHi J! I love this outfit! I was wondering if the shirt #2 would go with the shorts above, or it would be too dressy for them. I have had my eyes on shirt #2 since your last post! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI thought about buying that top too, Gizelle! And I definitely think the fabrics would go together. I'm all about a dressier material worn with a more casual pair of shorts.
ReplyDeletefun outfit!

OMG, this is totally one of my fave looks on you! Love the matching of polka dot patterns! I actually tried these shorts on at Old Navy. They didn't look amazing on me but I think they are fab on you.

I really like the way you've mixed these two neutrals! I have these same shorts in black/white polkadots. What do you think of mixing these shorts with a patterned black/white top such as this one from H&M? I have two small children and feel like I would need to wear a pair of flat sandals with them, maybe orange.

Love that idea NIkki, and I love the F21 shirt. You could do flat sandals in turquoise, pink, orange, yellow, metallic or even brown if you mix in a turquoise necklace!
ReplyDeleteYour Outfit is stunning! :)
ReplyDeleteConfession - I thought these shorts looked so cute in this outfit that I just bought the same shorts. Keeping with the ON theme, I bought this shirt to go with it (and yep, copy your look) -
ReplyDeletehttp://oldnavy.gapcanada.ca/browse/product.do?cid=72298&vid=1&pid=250564 I never would have ordered that colour of shorts had you not posted this, but it looks so cute, and they are so inexpensive....
I actually gasped when I saw this! LOVE IT THAT MUCH!!! And don't worry about being late to blogger meet-ups. I got stuck in an elevator on the way to my last one and had to be rescued by the fire department. Let's just say they'll never forget our entrances, eh? ;)
ReplyDeleteSo cute! That polka dot shirt is perfect for these shorts.
