A couple weeks ago I talked about being a style chameleon - I wore a girlie pink polka dot number out for dinner, but also considered this look with a hint of rockstar edge as well. I love dressing up graphic tees (see this post for 14 different looks with them), and mixing masculine pieces like a concert t-shirt with feminine pieces like a mini-skirt are one of my favorite tricks for getting dressed. (This particular outfit also reminds me of the Mickey Mouse t-shirt and blazer Carrie wore out on a date with Berger in SATC!) Are you a fan of dressing up graphic tees?

Hi! Love your blog :) I was just wondering how the sizing runs on this jacket? I found a couple on ebay and was just wondering if it's true to size? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mary! Yes, I would say true to size. I usually wear a 0 or 2 in blazers, but this size 4 was on the clearance rack so I scooped it up anyway. It's a bit oversized this way, so just depends on whether you want it to look more like mine, or a bit more fitted with your regular size! :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the mix of casual with the graphic tee & glammed up with the skirt, blazer & heels!

Great look!
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan of dressing up graphic tees. I like to dress them up with blazers, too. It's so simple and great. Anyway, I like your look a lot. It's also very on trend since white blazers are a must this summer. That being said, I think it's so adorable that you feel a hint of rocker edge when you wear that Madonna shirt. That's really cute ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! I love the balance of sexy and rock and roll. You look great and always and now I have some inspiration for a few outfits myself :) thanks girlie.

I love to wear graphic tees............ particularly of memorable places we've traveled to!!............ because doing so "brings back" those good memories; it's often a conversation-starter; and it's also just FUN to pick out a s.i.n.g.l.e. color IN the tee~~(e.g., say, Fall's *glowing*, orange-yellow leaves behind a bronze fountain in a park)~~then to highlight that single color with, say, gold accessories!!
ReplyDeleteI think when you purposely/fashionably showcase the *artistry* of a GRAPHIC TEE that you're wearing............ (i.e., as you've genuinely and r.o.c.k.i.n.g.l.y. done, Above, J., with the rest of your outfit, particularly with the gold ankle straps and gold heels of your shoes, which highlight Madonna's blonde hair AND the gold trim on her hat!!)............ it's almost like matting and framing a PAINTING............ to intentionally showcase the essential *artistry* of the painting, you know!!
Those heels are fabulous !!!!
ReplyDeleteI did a rockstar inspired outfit too!
